Why?

I'm not vegetarian, but I take serious issue with your logic here. If everyone thought like that, no one would ever make a stand for their beliefs because 'well, it can't make a difference, can it?' What would the world be like to day if people like Emmeline Pankhurst or Martin Luther King had thought like that?
I have no issues with eating meat (or 'dead stuff' as someone I know likes to put it) personally, but, for example, I never bought a News of the World (no matter how appealing the offers for holidays, etc. that try and entice people in) since their disgusting "Name and Shame" campaign in support of the equally misguided belief in "Sarah's Law". I'm not going to go into the reasons for that now, but suffice to say that not very many people did the same thing and they remained the highest selling Sunday newspaper until they closed last year. Why should that stop me from refusing to buy it though? If everyone made a stand for their beliefs, the world would be a better place - I don't expect others to do the same, but I stick by my own principles.
