I was thinking that but she off on maternity soon as well, and they'll probably get a 1Xtra presenter to cover as normal.

If you dropped it by mistake, as I assume you did, then you should be grateful they drew your attention to it. If you dropped it on purpose then why? What's wrong with sticking it in the bin? Aside from the whole "littering is bad" carry on, if you do it in front of the police then what do you expect them to say?
