I’m not quite sure if it is the right place for that post but ill give it a go. I was wondering if any of you knows what kind of equipment Chris is using and I’m not talking about software only but mixers microphones etc. I'’ specially interested in cueing equipment jingle machines playllist software and things like that.

I love Moyles show because of the way he puts the whole show together, jingles music sweepers…
So if anyone can help with some answers it would be brilliant

now i know i said i was leaving but having watched the sony awards and having listened to moyles for many years, altough not much of the breakfast show, i was very pleased he has one a sony award at long last for his contribution to radio and specifically motivating a new younger audience to listen to this medium.

wogan also deserved his award and rather than spurring a hate fest between wogan and moyles, it underlines that the bbc is catering for many differing audiences and pretty much doing it's job.

Rychu, unless you've got at least 50k spare and your own fm license its probably not worth probing the 'equipment' guff any further. A Tandy mic will do the job.

Ihave a bit of equipment of my own good mic mixing desk (no fm licence) Besides i'm doing it for myself. I want to learn how to do stuff how to sound good how to put a good show together... I'm really into those things love cables speakers ant sh*t like that... was hoping that someone shares the same interest that i do and listens to the show not only for commedy but also a broadcasting masterpiece.

if its a good mixing desk i imagine you have payed several thousand pounds for it?

your best place to stop for learning about the business is somewhere like hospital radio. cypher some skills from others working there, like show formats and presentations skills then employ them in perhaps a podcast.

However liking cable speakers is good and all, but producing a cracking show centre's on a good dj, not lots of professional sounding jingles and idents.

Get yourself in with hospital radio or you local bbc or commercial station and pay lots of attention to how other people do things.

Playout - they use the VCS Dira! system in the main. It's got a scheduler and cartwall amongst other features. They use CDs every now and then and a long time ago used to have MDs for jingles and general identy music - not any more though, as they use the cartwall for that.

Mixers - the desk they use in the studio is an DHD one, probably the RM4200D. It's fully digital and I am told you can change the arrangement of the faders using software rather than swapping the modules.

MD & CD players - Denons; they've recycled them from the old studios.

Show idents, jingles etc - all done by Music4, except R1 Newsbeat stuff and "this is radio 1" voiced jingles, which are produced in house.

Well definitely i didn't pay thousands for my mixing desk but for my amateur needs is good enough, I totaly agree with you - for the show to be the best not only jingles are important but dj's production and ideas. I need to look for some hospital radio in my aerya i'd love it! Thanks again mate!
