True. Like I said, I don't eat honey cos I'm a vegan - it's a circular argument.

Yes, but surely the existence of the sausage is against vegan principles, so to associate with said sausage by lickage would be wrong for a vegan?

Doesn't backup your personal reasons though. You gave us a link and that's it. Insects like bees are just programmed to do what they do. Why should they feel hurt if you take their honey? They just instinctively try to sting you.

But why do I have to answer to you? Why do you care? I'm not asking any of you why you do eat certain things. I'll say it again: I literally do not care what you eat. It's bizarre to me that anyone here cares what I eat.

What is the right word? Is it "produce"?

That link I posted uses 'manufacture', which is pretty much the same.

Well, you brought it up in the conversation and made a statement of being vegan; so I think it's reasonable to back it up like any of us do if we serve an opinion on something. Especially if we politely ask why. Is that a problem? I mean, this is a forum and no-one should be discounted for discussion. However, I do respect someone if they clearly say they don't want to talk about something. You haven't given me a reason not to ask, so I do care why.

This is an interesting debate. Hopefully nobody gets too defensive about it.
While I respect the views of people who don't eat meat they both confuse and amaze me. Meat (depending on the cut) is so good for you and essential to a balanced diet.

So anytime I mention it in conversation I have to defend it? That seems kind of unfair.

No, no, no. Rather than state a website, why not express why you personally don't eat honey? Especially when we were talking about a show with lots of non-vegan stuff. It's like I hate the taste of marmite. You might say why. I say I personally dislike the taste. I don't understand why you should exclude yourself from personalising your responses like you're telling us we're wrong by the matter of fact. It's not unfair at all.

Anyway, my cream-cheese, ham and cucumber bagel just made me smile.

I don't eat it because I'm a vegan and vegans don't eat animal products! If I ate it, I wouldn't be a true vegan. I don't know what I would be. I just can't say anything more about it than I already have, you know? I don't mind if anyone thinks that's not a good enough reason, because I'm not asking for approval. Sorry for being snippy, I just get really tired of this debate.
