New job, yay!
Long story, but basically I went for a job I saw advertised by one of our suppliers (realising that could potentially be a bit awkward), I knew I was capable and that the package was likely to be a reasonable amount more than what I'm on... the company I'm with currently have been VERY good to me, so I set the bar quite high in terms of what I'd leave for and they offered me more than I asked for, which was something I really can't afford to turn down. Because my current employers have been so good to me, I was cacking myself really about telling them, but I went in and spoke to them before I handed them the letter and explained exactly what I have written above and they were so understanding - my manager said that he was amazed they'd managed to keep me for so long and that he wasn't surprised at the company I was going to either and my director told me I had to do what was right for myself, my family and my career (and also that the new company owners are going to have to realise that if they don't pay competitive wages, they are going to lose good people). They both agreed they'll be very sorry to see me go, but don't want to stand in the way of my career progression. The new job is a bit further to go, but a good progression for me and I'm relishing the prospect of working for a small company (around 10 or 11 people).

You are a disgrace and I'm looking forward to when someone you respect dies so I can rub your liberal face in it.
