I don't understand why what Chris did last night is so much more relevant than what Grimmy did? As everyone here knows, I'm gutted that the show is ending and Grimmy can never replace Chris in my affections, but objectively I don't see the difference. I get bored of Chris' endless gym stories sometimes - they are no more relevant to me that Grimmy's Camden antics.

Going to the Gym and losing weight are easier for the wider audience to relate to than going to celeb bashes and cool gigs. Celeb bashes and cool gigs are what the target demographic will want.

I think I'd rather the latter. Neither are anything like my life, but I find all the weight loss talk oppressive and trigger-y, and I can't be the only one. I accepted a long time ago that it's part of a show I love, but I won't miss it.

Gym or otherwise, Chris discussed, mostly, subjecst which the masses could relate to. Nick, less so.

Edit - Sir Chris Hoy just won as well. Hero.

Yep, gotta say the same thing, it was a brilliant afternoon in the cycling. With Laura then Chris getting golds, shame about Victoria, but Silver still a good result.

I didn't realise how young Laura Trott is - one to pick up the baton from Victoria definitely, she's brilliant. Well they all are, as you both said the cycling team have defied belief (for two Olympics running now).

I did have a little rant about how they changed things on Twitter though:
One athlete from each nation per event policy to stop British cycling dominance has not only failed, it's woefully inconsistent - in Beijing China won gold, silver, bronze in both the men's and women's singles table tennis; they've dominated the sport for years, yet you're still allowed multiple competitors per country in these events, indeed China have won gold and silver in both again.

Went something like 'pipe down newbie' and you went 'ah stick your post count up your arse'.

Loved that post, love that bag (serious bag not s4b).
