Best wishes offbob.

Annoying me today, this essay that is not at all writing itself is being rudely interrupted by work. Also, I'm pretty sure the fingerprint scanners are in operation today. I still can't believe a bookies needs fingerprint scanners for staff...

Annoying me today, I'm listening to the show back on the iPlayer and around 1 hour 14mins in there's a song that samples Teardrop by Massive Attack and it is absolutely terrible. Ruined my day. Don't run a classic you mugs.

Newton Faulkner's cover was better than the original.

That's the Children in Need one organised by Gary Barlow, and yes it is terrible.

It is? Wow. Figured a man of Gary Barlow's unquestioned genius could have mustered something better than that monstrosity.

I'm rapidly going off Gary Barlow with this and his performances on X Factor. And I used to rate him so highly.

Ah thanks guys, she is a bit better today, hopefully I can take her home tomorrow.

When I first heard that song, I thought it was a clue for Dom for what answer to pick from multi choice..........

I am encouraged to hear that bobobobboff.

I've just read that Shooting Stars has been CANCELLED. The bastards!

I suppose the poncy BBC bigwigs felt that comedy wasn't fit for their happy clappy shitty pompous middle class guardian reading values. Bad times.

Only last week the team remarked that Westwood looked like Vic Reeves rubbing his legs at Tina while she was waiting to be gunged. Bad day for the Beeb.

I actually thought that Shooting Stars passed its peak years ago and was ripe for the chop, but judging from the reactions on Twitter I seem to be the only one that thinks that!

The last series was great. When it originally cam back I was really sceptical and didn't particularly like it but then I started to find Angelos funny for some reason and the show was brilliant again for me.

It's like Top Gear, yes it's probably past its best but it's still a lot better than some of the other bollocks they feel the need to broadcast. I'm quite gutted!

I agree, but then for me its peak was little more than a trough. One of the most self-indulgent vehicles for a drunkard I have ever seen.

It was quite self indulgent, but I don't think that made it bad. As I said, it was still funnier than some other rubbish that you can find. Who can forget classics such as "A fry up is what Stephen Fry calls an erection?"

I had already forgotten that and I expect by tomorrow I will have forgotten it again. Sounds like something you might hear in a school playground. It really wasn't funny.

I can see why people don't like it, but they could at least have stuck it over on to BBC3 or something. Look down any daily schedule for that channel and it's easy to find programs that wouldn't be missed. Lee Nelson's Well Good Show has an ironic title, and as for Coming Of Age (when it was on), that show made me want to die.

Angelos is fantastic and the last series was brilliant... an acquired taste maybe, but brilliant. Also, Bonanzoid is spot on about that Lee Nelson - what a massive tit he is.

Although the joke about his great great great uncle inventing multi car insurance was good.

It is really the BBC though, let find some Bankers son who can parody the Chav, give him a show and we'll appeal the the chav demographic?

Yeah right, Channel 4 Shameless, ITV the inbetweeners, BBC The office, Gavin & Stacey & Lee Nelson........ Yeah man the BBC is so like totally down with the crumpets.

Also why are cold play singing about a bird of paradise's cuboid random number generator?

Whats so special about a Parrot Dice?

Did you know that the most popular owl in the UK is a Teat?

I am here all week, try the veal.

Completely agree. I did notice a bit more self indulgence in the recent series as some guests seemed to never contribute, but Angelos made up for it, he was easily the the highlight of the show for me. Dare I say it, he might even have been better than George Dawes...

The Inbetweeners is on Channel 4, just to get the pedantry out of the way. And Gavin and Stacey is a horrible show. James Corden is just unbearable and from what I've seen of Matt Horne he's as funny as a fire in an orphanage.

I take issue with this. I don't know what the general consensus is, but I regard it as the best British sitcom of the last 5 years (slim pickings, i know).

The characters are well rounded, the plot is good (and never really outlived it's natural life span), the humour is never really over the top, there's quite a few touching and dramatic moments...it's one of my favourite shows.

The bit about Horne not being funny is fair, but the role was tailor made for him - and Corden's arrogance grew as his status did.

I can see why people like it, it's just not my cup of tea. I like the woman in it (can't remember her name, the one off Little Britain too), she seems about the funniest character and from what I gather she writes it too? You'd need someone good to nullify the idiocy of James Corden.

And as for the best British sitcom of the past 5 years, I think Still Game just falls in to that category. I think it's the best Scottish show of all time, it's utterly brilliant. I urge you to check it out!
