I can't hear properly out of my left ear, Doc appointment on wednesday, at least 48 hours of saying "pardon" to everyone on my left. Google seems to think I will need it syringed, anyone with previous experience of this?

Get yourself to Saltcoats, a balmy 15 with not a bit of blue in the sky. Glorious.

A stab proof vest and a biscuit for the 'benefit dugs' you will come in to contact with are recommended.

Yes. It doesn't work for me because I have congenitally narrow ear canals, but people for whom it does work report positively. You will need to use eardrops for a few days first to soften the wax.

Alternatively if they can't syringe it out you may be referred for microsuction, where they suck it out with a mini vaccum cleaner. Again, this didn't work for me because of the sheer volume and rock-hardness of the deposits, which apparently had probably been there for 25 years...they had to physically dig it out of my ears which was one of the most exquisitely painful experiences of my life and left me with bleeding ears for 2 days. I won't attempt to describe what they pulled out of there...

That's very unprofessional - they should interview all the people they have invited for interview; how do they know you wouldn't be a lot better than the person they hired?

Its also highly illegal. If you have a vacancy you aren't allowed to just give it to whoever, you have to advertise it and you have to interview at least one applicant. If you have invited someone for interview but appoint someone before you have seen them you're breaking about twelve pieces of employment legislation.

My mum said she quite liked the feeling of having her ears syringed. I think she may be the only person who's ever thought that about it, though.

People are annoying me today. Well, they annoyed me yesterday and today I am just upset about it. At work and elsewhere. So today, life is shit.

Not to be a cynic, but this annoys me. Was it written by a 3 year old?

You seem to get annoyed by people who are annoyed by you. I sense a pattern.
