Sony. As of today it will be my mission to never spend another pound of my money on a sony product. Customer services nightmare. Once bitten, twice shy - someone more deserving can have my hard earned.

I realise as a PS3 user this will be tricky, but if I never buy brand new ever again I can still collect used games...

O2 are down this morning, I thought it was just my phone but my brothers phone is displaying "SOS" on the signalling panel, very annoying especially on a day when I need it :x

Now when I mentioned that I had experience appalling customer service from Apple, many people posted that their experience had been the opposite - which is nice for them. I am now going to tell of the time that a careless visitor to our house allowed their snotty and unbelievably badly behaved youngster to spill a glass of water (we weren't giving this little toad any excuses I can assure you...) into Mr Yudster's prized Sony audio visual system, ruining a speaker, a DVD player, the tuner and the amplifier. All of the products were out of warranty but still within a minimal cover extended guarantee (which must have been cheap as chips or Mr Y would never have taken it on). One call to Sony established that all of the products ruined had been superceded by new, far more expensive products. To our astonishment, Sony did a straight swap on all our old kit for the new stuff, no charge, no questions asked and all done within a week.

Impressed me anyway.

Don't assume from that that I am a Sony fan. I don't care what the label says as long as it works. I just thought it was unexpectedly good service on that occasion.

Indeed, sounds like it yuds. My best guess would be that Mr Yuds set up sounded like it cost more than a fwe quid, they probably smelled the wreak of money and decided it was in their interests to service you thoroughly.

I'm just annoyed that now the PSN is back I can't get on as I need to await an email from Sony - which has so far taken over 60 hours to arrive. Email, y'know, the instantanious mail delivery system... Add to this I have spent over an hour and half on phone to them trying to get it resolved these last two days. There is nothing worse than listening to 20 mins of 'your call is important to us, please continue to hold' and then being instantly cut off by a call centre rep who can't be arsed and having to go back to the begining of the queue. Grrrrr.

I got on as soon as it was back - I logged into the sony webpage (via the normal internet, not the PS3) and it told me to change my password and re-enter the card details and that.

Next time I logged in via PSN (on the PS3) it prompted me to check the new details and updated.

The shop's still offline, but the rest of it should be back....

It is back. But, as my PS3 account is not held on the Playstation it was originally set up on (old one died just after xmas), I have no choice but to re-set password via email.

Hence my annoyance. You are back on, my mates are back on. Me? Still waiting....

It was mid range really - he could easily have spent a hell of a lot more (well in theory if not practice). But I would still class it as "more than a few quid" personally!
