NatWest is an interesting one, from what I recall when RBS Group had problems it was nothing to do with NatWest it was all the RBS side, NatWest was the one that had no problems at all. Unfortunately it seems that since all the banking groups got a slap on a wrist the parent companies seem to be enforcing their rules on the banks they owe. Santander has made a mess of the existing Abbey National, Bradford & Bingley, Alliance & Leicester and Post Office accounts, Halifax have changed their T&C's twice in the space of a year, first off to be similar to Lloyd's TSB & then making them exactly the same as Lloyds TSB's

Barclays were the only ones not to allow themselves to be partially taken over by the Government & now they're lavishingly updating their banks in a rather extravagant way.

Barclays are arseholes though. Robert Mugabe-funding arseholes at that.

I bank with the Co-op now and they are very good AND ethical.

Yes, there are many reasons not to bank with Barclays, and I never would. I'm with the Halifax, but I may take advantage of the Santander current acount switching offer - they give you £100, switch everything over for you (not that my account is complex in any way), and give you 5% interest on your balance for 6 months or something. They'd have to match my fee-free agreed overdraft though. I don't often need it, but I like knowing its there.

This really is terrible news. I am so glad I am going to Uni in 2011 but it is going to stop a lot of people from going and it would certainly stop me if I was in that position. The worst thing is that all these people who claim incapacity benefits seem to have a higher quality of life than me and they have never done a hard day's work in their life and they have never been to Uni but the government is happy to fund them but not us students who will actually be able to make a difference to the economy in years to come.

Work!

Six months ago we got an extra person in our department as we were super swamped with work, normally in our company after the six months is up they sign you on permanently, however this time they didn't & the person was let go last week. Since then it has been non stop agro, everyone has been super stressed & just cannot get work done. However the * in our head office decided we were "unnecessarily overstaffed", however our neighbouring branch has four admin and half the work we have.

Not only that there was a photographer in our office taking "pictures for a brochure", which was his response when one of our department managers jokingly said they were selling us up, we've also had someone in measuring parts of the office, it could be totally true, however when this happened in our old office they closed it down six months later, there's rumours also that our lease is up in May, so that's me possibly out of a job next year then :( :x

Baby Yudster is ill again - he was only off school the week before last, he's worse this time too. And I was on antibiotics for a chest infection for 2 weeks, and I finished them on Friday, feeling fine - and now I'm bloody coughing again already. I'm * SICK of this.

...when does the idea of 'loving someone' in a relationship become acceptable?

i'll put this into context. i'm 3 months into a relationship, probably the most honest and happy one i've ever had - but she's much tougher than i. she's never likely to be the one to tell me first, if indeed she feels that way about me, which i'm certain i do about her. [p.s. i'm happy to be using the forum as drunken ramblings that elude to happier circumstance]

if it wasn't clear before : what's annoying me is the elephant in the room.

Snow. I hate, loathe, abominate and detest the * stuff. And there is a LOT of it stopping anyone who lives in our street from getting out of it. People keep saying "oh the main roads aren't too bad" - well that's fine if you can GET to the * main roads.

Ok, two things annoying me today, both related. At work I have the show playing on the iPlayer, which from 0630 is always fine, but as the office starts to fill and everyone starts streaming various things I sometimes lose bandwidth and it starts to stutter. To back this up I have a DAB radio. Now you'd think one of these options would be enough to get to listen to the whole show, but no.... the number of times I have to switch from one to another just pisses me off.

And to top it all off it is always, and I mean ALWAYS during a link! I never lose DAB signal, or tinternet bandwidth during a shite song or trail, which would be off little or no consequence. It does my ruddy head in. Hate missing vital punchlines from a link....

Rant over.

Oh, and I'd see a doctor about that Yuds.....
