I reckon Thursday at 13.00 is when it'll start... born on Friday at 08.00.

I can't get away from the feeling that it will happen during a weekend - or at least start then, so i'm going to say sometime over this weekend. Also I think - not sure why, but I think - it'll be a boy, and weigh about 8lb 8oz.

Annoying me today is that my week off is over already and i'm back to work tomorrow. The work transfer has taken place so I think we're all moving over to Birmingham from tomorrow :(

And why does Hugh Jackman look like he's been drawn by Vic Reeves?

The whole list is awful. But only one black face in there? Really?

The Pope's visit. As a still-practising but very liberal and conflicted Catholic, I know I'm going to spend most of it just being pissed off and probably hurt by all sides of the commentary/debate (by all sides, I include the Catholic one). I may just hide until he's gone.

Exactly this. It's very uncomfortable to have to listen to a pretty much unified voice of disapproval against the leader of a world faith. Especially when that faith is my own. I choose not to weigh in on the debate because it's not something I think education or facts can change the opinion. Just puts my religion in the spotlight, and frustrates me.

Do you think that your not voicing your own opinions on it though because you don't like this pope? If people were reacting to John Paul II visiting then I would be kicking them but I don't like the pope...I'm a bad catholic.

Bagpipes are annoying me. The most awful sound in the whole sodding world and they won't shut up, even this pope doesn't deserve listening to that for hours.

I don't think it makes you a bad Catholic to not like this Pope - even some Catholics are joining the protests.

I'm watching on and off on the BBC and I must admit, I was moved at the live footage of him warmly greeting the representatives of various other faiths.

And now Cardinal O'Brien, who is also Archbishop of my Parish (St Andrews and Edinburgh) is riding in the popemobile with him to his house. I have lovely memories of being confirmed by the man and meeting him a few times during my childhood, when I was more devout. They've since been tainted slightly because of all the bad press he gets, as since he became Cardinal he's been more in the spotlight and has made some controversial (if you're not used to the Catholic Church's way of thinking) comments. It's all very mixed feelings for me today.

As for my feelings on the current pope... To be honest I'm not sure. I've never liked him as he doesn't appear very likeable, but when I hear all the arguments against him, apart from the ridiculous Nazi Youth thing (don't people know it was compulsory to join?) I honestly don't see the difference between him and previous popes as far as all the controversies go. I think it's more that the West has moved on and is now less tolerant of the Church's views. And as for the child abuse scandal, is it not the case that Benedict XVI has been the first to really, properly condemn it and admit that it's a problem? I could be wrong though.

I think it's more the case that when he was a Cardinal, he was in charge of dealing with abuse cases, but instead of dealing with allegations properly he sent the accused priests to another diocese to carry on. That and he refuses to let Police see the Vaticans files on child abuse. Johann Hari wrote an article on it.

Also, I agree about the Nazi Youth thing - you can't blame him for that at all.
