Motorcycle. I own two 'track prepared' bikes, which are not road legal (no brake light or horn). After becoming a father 8 years ago I came under pressure to give up biking on the road, but bikes are in my blood - have loved them since being a wee boy, so this was my comprimise. At least this way I eliminate T junctions, diesel on round-a-bouts, grannys in metros, etc.

Oh, and i'm not trying to sound flash by having two, they are both of mid 90's vintage (and hence cheap) so not exactly cutting edge technology, but by having two it means I can take someone else with me and thereby split the additional costs - like van hire and fuel to get there n back.

Indeed, that is VERY low mileage for a 6 yr old car, well done. I hope this one doesn't go walk-about.....

Blimey. I have to say I hovered around the edge of bikerdom in the early eighties, my boyfriend at the time had one, his pride and joy - Kawasaki GPZ 750. The boyfriend probably lasted longer because of the bike than he would have done otherwise!

Wow, Yuds. Not only would it seem you have a mild interest in bikes, but you can even remember the silly name too! The GPZ750, grandfather to the modern day sports bike, and as ridden by a certain Mr Cruise in Top Gun (which is one of the best bits of homo-erotica EVER. I'm straight as a dart, but that voleyball scene even got me thinking about a switch! 8O ) .

In my experience, being a man in leathers (of the non 17 stone variety) has never had a bad effect with the other sex. When I used to bike to work daily the girls in the office would always show their appreciation....

Plus, a motorcycle engine revs higher than a washing machine, girls.....

Some great friends of mine were expecting a baby in June. For a reason that none of the doctors can discover, my friend went into labour last week and delivered the baby on Sunday - at 29 weeks. This is making me smile because I only had a call from them today, and everything is looking fine - my friend is very well, the baby is doing brilliantly, they're being really well looked after in the hospital, and although the baby is only 2lb he is healthy and strong. Just needs to grow! Scary situation, but great news.

Jeez Yuds, that is small. My daughter was born quite premature (7 weeks early), but 2lb is amazing! Thats like pocket size! Hope all goes well.
