That site comes highly recommended by my good self. After that Irish guy posted here and I bought one of his tshirts. I've worn it a few times into town and ALWAYS get positive comments for it. It's ace!

[bradcali]

why did I not get a ticket for the karaoke tour Aled? It has undermined my faith in the show

ps Carries said on twitter she has a week off in october so Im assuming this means Chris has decided to take a break after all

[nicowoodcock]

Surely that just means Carrie has a week off in October..

Oh sorry. I forgot you somehow know everything, and are always 100% reliable.

[richardtomlinson]

Carries said on twitter she has a week off in october so Im assuming this means Chris has decided to take a break after all

I can't believe i've taken the bait, but ...

To quote from Carrie's tweet, "Should be up for a week October time" in no way infers that she is definitely on holiday on October either individually or as part of a scheduled break for the whole team. "Should" is very different from "Will be" or "I am".

Bradcali, sort yourself out! Take a breath and think about what you're reading and then what you're writing!

[nicowoodcock]

Aled,

The ad for the show, with Chris on a horse and Kings of Leon playing.

Do you know anything about this? As in, where the idea came from etc

I may just be being stupid, but it seems very random and I don't really understand it?

Although as an advert it has done its job, its sticking in my mind and got me talking about it.

[deano.s]

Aled, firstly you guys are awesome! Secondly cant wait 2 C U in Glasgow this week. Thirdly are any of team followin this Alrik Fanshaw thingy on twitter the Schofemyster and chattyman Alan carr loads of pepes so why no the coolest show in Uk MOYELSY UR KING ! ALED UR QUEEN !! he he

Aled, Random Question -

A few years back when you did the Rallyoke in the famous cars, where did you hire the cars from?
Was it from here by any chance? - http://www.carsofthestars.com/

[Johnny 1989]

Aled I have a question (which I don't think I've asked before) & I don know if you can answer it (either through knowledge or for "BBC Policy" reasons).

How far back does the archive go back with regards to Chris' shows? I ask as I recently re-listened to the last ever Saturday Show (15/9/2001) and there's a bit where Comedy Dave mentions that "most of the tapes are mising" & I was wondering if that was a throwaway comment or if the archives are only kept for so long?

[DC_FC79]

Aled can you tell me when dave is appearing on hole in the wall in his silver suit

thanks

[bradcali]

its this saturday

Hello Aled.Just wondering how the Aled Is Here song came about if you can remember.

[bradcali]

I think they jjust play it because he comes in late because at some point he went from being an assistant producer to being the day producer, therefore doesant start work till 9am

[John22]

I have two questions. The first is Aled, are you dead? You haven't been on here for ages! And the second is very pointless but something that I've always wondered when listening to Chris' jingles. You know how all the other Radio 1 DJ's have just dry jingles of their names (eg.Radio 1; Scott Mills) Well does Chris have these on the Radio 1 computer system or are they not made as he produces his own.

As I said before, pointless, but just something I've just always wondered about.

John

[SAV1OUR]

Suppose thats what sets him apart from every other DJ, the generic jingles are banished for his show and his show only.

I have a burning question, just need to get it off my chest while in the mood.

Aled, I have enjoyed immensly the many many jingles the show has made over the years, but my favourite has to be the original from back in January 2004 - 'Morning Horn' I think it was called, those jingles were catchy, punchy, the lyrics were cheeky.

Also, for example 'Morning Jazz' - Chris still regularly plays this, its great and proper vintage Moyles.

I just thought, seeing as you've recently celebrated your record, it might be nice to hear it again, revive it with new lyrics perhaps? Here it is from it's glory days:

As far back as Capital FM Chris always seemed to have his own personalised radio jingles, the Capital FM & Afternoon jingles from 1999-2003 were all Paul "The Voice" Turner style ones, from 2004-onwards these have all been sung by (I believe) Sandy and his group/band. Don't know their name unfortunately.

The practice at Capital FM (at least) was very common, with most DJ's having their own personalised jingles (from memory Pat Sharp's always had a "woo-woo" added to them, Dr Fox had a jingle that sampled Billy Joel's Bad Case Of Loving You, Chris Tarrant had a jingle that sampled Jane Wielden's (sp) Rush Hour, and Neil Long's literally went "Neil, Neil, Neil, LONG")

[McGuinness-89]

The jingle singer's name is Richard Oliver.

[richardtomlinson]

... Dr Fox had a jingle that sampled Billy Joel's Bad Case Of Loving You ...

Small point I know, but in the interests of accuracy, it was Robert Palmer who did Bad Case Of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor).

[jocky85]

Hi Aled,
Its a bit old now but did Chris ever see or mention Brett Domino's audition on the most recent Britains Got Talent?

[Johnny 1989]

The jingle singer's name is Richard Oliver.

Ah ok, who's Sandy then? I'm sure I've heard that name mentioned before regarding the jingles.

I thought that was wrong when I typed that but I was having so much trouble with the internet yesterday lunchtime that I couldn't check it properly, I couldn't even get ont everyhit.com or wikipedia at work at all for some reason yesterday.

[Yudster]

Sandy is a record producer. He's doing the parodies album I believe, I don't know what else he's done for the show, but I thought Chris knew him outside of R1 anyway? Or does he produce the jingles or something?
