Jubilee & Victoria were completely shut, Metropolitan between Aldgate-Harrow-On-The-Hill (yesterday), District & H&C between Whitechapel-Barking/Upney, which resulted in everyone piling on the Central/GER :x

Welcome back

God I'm going to be worse than you, I'm going to Hong Kong for 10 days in November & probably won't want to come back to Ilford.

Stay in Hong Kong or go back to Ilford, no contest really is there

Apologies for the double post.

I got ridiculed for going shopping in Romford at the weekend, I said it could've been worse, I could've gone to Ilford!

Renting. And I'm not moaning that I'm stuck here because I'm really looking forward to moving - well, looking forward to being moved and settled actually - but I do find it amusing that people can go away and have a brilliant time and then come back and moan that they had to come back.

Yep, from what my cousin said (and he's lived there for 2.5 years) the food is miles better than over here.

Trust me if you lived in Ilford you would understand

Well quite, Ilford's shops have been half-inched by Romford or Stratford now, we have bugger all in our town centre except cheap, shitey clothers shops & pound shops :x

I find it a shame that there has been little chat lately in the ramble forum.

Can each of the regulars that post a lot but never start a new topic, start a new topic? It might be pish, it might get slagged but it might be better that NOTHING.

I created a thread - noone responded to it. So that's me out!

Well be fair, you asked a question that nobody had a good answer to! A question doesn't really constitute a thread.

Well as stated in the thread I thought anyone could use it for questions/advice on anything, like when someone was looking for advice from a solicitor

Annoying (well making me sad) today is knowing that I have to go to a meeting on Friday afternoon (with 20 odd others) to find out if we have jobs or not :( Bad times

Fingers crossed that you're kept on Jill :)

I kind of know how you are feeling, as I've said before on here 2/3rds of my office have been made redundant except for my department & another department, however on Monday they said that the managers of those departments were in threat of redundancy. That then leaves us lot, of which we're just about struggling with the mega increase in workload, however if the shareholders in the US want more * cuts, they'll have them. I honestly think our shareholders want to destroy our firm, I really do. :x

I'm currently on the cusp of being seriously pissed off with someone. I don't have enough information right now to be officially pissed off with them but I can see it coming like a big * off train ready to smash into me. For those that don't know me (all of you) I rarely get actually pissed off with anyone. People may irritate me from time to time, but life generally allows the oppertunity to smooth things over. I fear that this time that may not be the case and the individual responsible might actually be a bonafide "*".

Tonight, however, I am on the cusp. I have also decided I like the word "cusp".

I'll probably have more info on my pissed off-ness tomorrow.

Thanks Johnny, we'll have to wait and see. Had a big scary memo saying we HAD to be there, even if we aren't due to work that day, so it must be big.

I hope things get better for your place :)

Oh dear, good luck in sorting it. I quite like the word cusp too.

Being tired is annoying me. I had a late night on Tuesday because I went to Mr Y's squash team's match (they lost), and then had to get up at 5.30 on Wednesday morning because he had to be in work early on Wednesday. And today and tomorrow there are rail strikes so in order to make sure he can actually get into work (there are four trains this morning and four this afternoon) I had to get him to the station at stupid o'* again this morning.

Finding it hard to be annoyed (well, too annoyed) with the rail unions though - Network Rail are the only franchise that have given minimal payrises this year (about £200 a year - all the other franchises have done much more) but at the same time they have awarded Network Rail managers 10% of their already inflated salaries, plus large bonuses. Also, the franchise has loads of vacancies in every department which they refuse to recruit, so the staff they have got are often effectively doing more than one job each. The strike is a pain in the arse, but all things considered, I can't really blame them.
