Yep, i'm really from Coventry. Born and bread. We don't talk like Rachel though - we haven't really got an accent. We definately don't sound brummie. Well i don't anyway

Ooooh another Coventry person! How exciting.

I suspect it's spelling related.

Rachel's accent is fine. The Birmingham accent is fine. Coventry smells and has a crap train station.

The Coventry accent sounds like a Brummie trying not to be a Brummie.

An upper class Brummie. Like the cousin who tries to pretend he's not part of the family.

But the Brummie accent sounds like a Brummie accent. That's worse.

I will agree with the bit about Coventry. It does smell.

I don't think I sound like that!

Sounds like maybe the people in Coventry have actually heard the Brummie accent and are doing the right thing by trying to lose it. Perhaps the average IQ in that part of the midlands is higher than in other parts, because that's a clever thing to do.

Well you would say that seeing as your from Birmingham. But i understand that, as I will stick up for where i'm from also.

Some Coventry folk have a brummie twang - i've heard it. But it no where near as strong as your typical 'brummie'.

P.S Yes the train station is pretty 70s but i've seen worse

It was only a bit of banter. For example, foot-loose smells of wee and is a silly skirt-wearing, bagpipe (among other things) blowing Scotchlander. That's how it goes isn't it?

Yeah, and we'd do it to you in return, except Milton Keynes has absolutely no character whatsoever and therefore nothing to exaggerate.

Oh god, are we going to get all precious? Does that mean Cat is going to have a go at me for being mean about Birmingham? No? Well - there's something to note for future reference Jill.

Roundabouts. Lots of them. Concrete cows (that aren't concrete). I like it though... we're right next to Leighton Buzzard, that makes us look great!

Well as quoted on Top Gear last night

Spot on too. I used to travel down to Norwich to visit family and if you look at a map Kings Lynn from my perspective looks like you're nearly there. It never, ever felt like it. It was nowhere near bloody Norwich.
