Thanks for all the suggestions, Jocky all I can say is good luck, today near where I live (Ilford) there was a serious assault where a man was hospitalised & even tonight at 6:40pm the Police still had the area cordoned off.

I couldn't agree more Johnny (and I'm 23!!) I used to happily go to the cinema there on a fairly regular basis as it was the easiet 'big' cinema to get too. Think I'll only be going shopping in Romford, not that its much safer but at least it'll be daylight. Wondering why I want to move back now!!

Not so much annoying me as shocking me. I got an email from Lou in Kenya today - she has just heard from an ex of hers who she is still friends with that he has got a rare form of bone cancer. He should be ok, he needs 10 months of chemo, but the bit that is shocking me is that he will have to have his leg amputated. I'm very glad he will ultimately be ok, but jeesh, cancer is brutal.

Cancer is indeed brutal. My mam had what sounds like a similar cancer when she was about 28. Her leg was amputated and luckily there has never been a sign of reoccurrence.

Oh this is a bad week. An Iranian friend of ours was arrested a few weeks ago because he took part in the election protests. Just found out he was killed in prison a couple of days ago.

Went to peel some spuds and realised that the potato peeler is missing again. Thats 2 peelers in the space of a month that have gone missing

That's happened twice before, I think they record the show with the bed music on very very low so that they know where to place it (I presume) but I imagine that one or two beds that they used can't be cleared for legal reasons and so have to be edited out of the podcast. However it seems to have been recorded a bit too high on this one by mistake.

Shit this week just gets crapper and crapper! We went out for a walk and a pub meal with some friends of Mr Y's this afternoon, and when we get to the pub Mr Y's friend collapses in the car park with numbness and paralysis in her arms and no movement in her face and legs. First thought are its flu, so what to do? In the end Mr Y took her to hospital leaving me with Baby Y and her three kids, plus her useless and panicking husband to deal with.

Good job she went to hospital though, they don't think its flu. They've ruled out heart attack but think she may have had a stroke. If she did thankfully it seems to have been a fairly mild one, she has the movement back in her arms and face and can talk again. Mr Y is staying with her until more is known, and I have just finished getting two families worth of children and one pathetic and useless husband (definitely not mine) fed and put to bed in their respective houses. Its going to be another late one.......

They were ok eventually. They were pretty shocked and scared but I got them reassured and comfortable - at which point they were so comfortable that they decided to start asking their dad what would happen if mummy died (they were only doing this becuase they had been convinced that this wasn't going to happen!) and getting all dramatic with what they would do - at which point their dad gave up all pretence of coping and went into full-scale auto-witter mode. I managed to get them calmed down, and then him calmed down, got them some supper and got them all off to bed - and then finally got me and Baby Y home to do the same!

Bloody hell Yuds you really are having a terrible week, just hope it all gets better for you soon.

Well, to be fair, all the bad stuff is happening to other people - in comparison, my week has been great really! But honestly, it never rains......
