The Pubs blame the Supermarkets also.

When you can buy decent drink for 30p a pint in a supermarket, why would you prefer to spend £3 a pint in a Pub?

The company you keep, thats why, it's our choice. People will always want to meet for a drink in a social environment, there are too many Pubs now, the crap ones will close.

Thing I notice is pubs in residential areas are on the decline, could be a loss of community thing, whereas in the city theres still that heaving weekend thing going on, but, the added bonus would always be the football games on during the week - if your landlord was prepared to line Mr Murdoch's pockets, a pub on Deansgate recently decided against the fortune it was shelling out on Sky and the difference in numbers is somewhat vast, hardly any go in. Seems to be a football thing that people gather for from my POV.

This makes me laugh, my Dad will go out to watch the Football, on the pretense it's the football, he does this maybe twice a week. 8 pints a night, thats £50 a week, you could get all packages at home for a quarter of that.

Oh how I laugh at the lowly and unworldly bastardised Teletext, theres tabloid trash and theres virtually unheard of journalistic trash too. Earlier this week, Rob DJ expressed his disgust at having his catchphrase nicked by DJ Moron/Talent, who, as Chris described is "a few pepperonis short of a pizza". Well, some tit here has decided to proclaim DJ Talent as the thing to remember the televisual circus by:

Sorry for the double post but I've just realised we've been discussing the decline of the British pub here aswell, and, if everybodys stuck in watching shite telly such as BGT then thats another blow for a) pub quizzes and b) pubs in general, doh!

I love the way nearly nobody's prepared to admit to liking Britain's Got Talent, yet it is one of the most watched shows on television.

I don't watch it and never have actually. But then I don't love or hate it either. It's basically just sort of... there to me.

I don't watch it and won't let anyone else watch in in the same room as me either. I refuse to be polluted in any way by even the remote presence of Piers Morgan in my life. Also its a pathetic freak show for desperate losers. I don't go to the pub either. Its amazing how many other things there are in life.

I hate the way they pan across the audience during a performance. If i'm watching it I want to see the performance not the audience clapping or dancing.

It always used to annoy me on Stars In Their Eyes when after the performer had sung the first line of the song the whole audience would clap & cheer. Wait until the end of the bloody performance!

I don't go to pubs that often, and the main reason is that you always get idiots who end up annoying me. Instead I prefer to invite people round to my house instead, we have a good drink, and it's company I actually want to spend the evening with. Maybe I'm just old before my time, but even in my 20's I wasn't that bothered by pubs. I will only go to the pub if they're showing the Spurs game! or if it's a nice afternoon to sit in the beer garden. The added bonus with this is I can then smoke without having to keep going outside.

I love the local pub, but I don't always have the money to go.

As for Britain's Got Talent, what an awful pile of shite.

I have only ever "seen" it when people other than me have been in control of the telly, but I have never paid any attention to it. That said, I did go on Youtube to see what the fuss is about with that Susan Boyle woman and I have to say I think she's totally overrated.. she can sing, but she's not as brilliant as people seem to be making out in my opinion.

Exactly the same here. She's got a decent voice but nothing special. It was the odious "voice of an angel / face like a slapped arse" spin the show put on it that built the following.

The YouTube clip confirmed all I needed to know about that show: manipulative and vindictive agenda, audience full of holier-than-thou brainless idiots, poorly edited cut-aways, the criminal Piers Morgan centre-stage with his shit-eating grin. Typical vile and spiteful ITV fodder. I * hate that channel with a passion.

It's all bollocks anyway, "talent" shows like that are all the same - all the shit people they have on still have to go through about five auditions before they get on telly, so the judges (and I use the word loosely) know exactly what's coming up, yet they still feign their goldfish impressions of shock.

If Susan Boyle didn't look like a man in drag after three nights living rough she wouldn't have raised an eyebrow for her singing. Totally mediocre.
