Morale of the story: all that glitters is not gold.

My missus just cut herself a nice wedge of cheese to munch on. After refusing to give me any I thought I'd go and get my own so cut off the biggest lump I could. I proudly marched into the lounge and stuffed as much of it in my mouth as I could being the childish person I am. It took me all of 2 seconds to figure out that the hard yellow oblong I cut a wedge from was not cheese but rather butter.

Actually the moral could equally be look before you leap.
