It's not like they were married or anything, that was made abundantly clear early on.But he was about to propose, I am sure he had a ring in his pocket.
With the internet, long distance relationships are always possible.

From the trucker and train drivers that are on the road away from their family, to the riggers off in the North Sea, to the footballers who move club every six months and don't want their families to have to up-sticks all the time, to the sports presenter on a radio station in London while her husband is in the army... people have jobs that take them places that keep them apart from their families. They make it work.
Its like - they met, she and the kids moved into his, then they bought a place together, and they WERE thinking about kids, at least she was and I bet he was too, if not immediately - they were as good as married in practical terms. And then he gets offered a job and decides to move? On his own? Something isn't right - surely the normal scenario there is for the family to move, not just the "husband"? Or if its too complicated and difficult, the DON'T move. You make sacrifices for your family, thats life.

Munki Bhoy wrote:Absolutely, it nearly happened with me and Mr Yudster a couple of years back. But the point I am making is that from the conversation they are in the middle of, its clear that there hasn't been any discussion, he has just upped and left, leaving her and the kids not really knowing whats going on. If you do something like that, you agree it between you, this obviously hasn't happened.Yudster wrote:They were committed, they bought a house together and everything, and then he just ups and leaves - he seems to think it will all be ok, but they can't have done much in the way of discussing it or they wouldn't be having the conversation they are when he loses his connection.Nonsense, plenty of families spend time apart because neither of them can afford not to take the job away from the other one. And who's to say that she wouldn't have moved to be with him if it worked out?

And the one with the letter and him phoning her - I caught the last five seconds of that one ONCE. Once, dammit. And that was before Christmas. I haven't seen it since, but they keep putting the other one on. I. Want. To. Know. What. Is. Happening!!!!!!
