He's off today, which means no nasty animal type chewing noises! Also my last day at work for 2 1/2 weeks, so I have some gum free respite.

I have just been called into a formal meeting with our IT Director and IT Manager... the first thing the Director said was: 'do not panic'. She explained that our Technical IT Assistants (my friend and I) were put into a pool for redundancy. They had to score us on certain criteria and the person with the lowest score had to go. He has been placed on garden leave. I’ve never felt such a mix of emotions in my life – selfishly, relief for myself; but I’m so upset for him, we’re such a close-knit unit. I’m also feeling a bit guilty because perhaps I should have been the one that went. They can’t discuss how the scores differed, obviously, but I think the only thing that would give me the slight edge is my length of service.

I know it was a joke and I know you have to laugh at things when times are bad - I realise that. It's just when the joke is not very funny anyway and the person saying it comes across as arrogant at the best of times, sorry, but I will react.

The people I feel for, other than the colleague we lost, are my director, who has been given the unenviable task of handling the redundancies; and my manager, who I know was a wreck last week. They're both two of the best people I've ever worked for and they have both tried their hardest to prove to the rest of the board that we are all needed - but the trouble is that when systems run smoothly, people who don't understand tend to think that the people running them are doing * all, when actually, they're doing their * hardest to ensure the smooth-running.

The numptys at work are annoying me.... I'm running a project to move some users from our Redhill office to a new office in East Grinstead. I have got our Telecomms guys involved to order the link from BT. Every email I have sent tham has East Grinstead in the subject header, this has been going on for about 4 weeks. I have sent them the address several time, so where do they tell BT to install it? Our Hove office... how * stupid!!!!! GRRRRRRR!

My order from Amazon that I told them to package up in as few packages as possible. I ordered four things. One came yesterday, one came today. The other two are apparently coming on Monday.

The only good thing about it is that it's a PS3, a game, an HDMI cable and a Blu-ray disc. The thing that came yesterday was the PS3 itself, and the game arrived today. At least now I can connect it up using the crappy composite cable and play something. It's still in the box at the moment!

My post today was interesting, I had a mortgage statement, a reminder that I needed to provide an accurate electricity read for my new supplier, and my wife got a nursing magazine with a free Diary in it. Wow at least I can write things like birthdays in it, but it's still in the wrapper. My Mop head has picked up wood shavings from the Rabbit hutch and they won't come off, that is annoying me today, and my hair if frizzy, and I went for a run and a swim, and got attacked by a loud person who lives by me and I have a new brush which only cost me £2 and I bought some hair spray for dry frizzy dried out post menopausal women which is really cool , I've PM's everyone and no-one replied to my thread about Hallowean being a real side kick event, and witches are real and that, and my ankle really hurts, and I have my period, and that, and I am happy, no I am sad, I am really angry and sad, and happy and that .
