rustybike wrote:Not so much annoying, but more upsetting. My previous boss at EDF has died.

He was taken into hospital a week after I left because he'd collapsed at home. A couple of days later and after a couple of tests it turned out he had leukemia! I was told the doctors did 2 blood transfusions but according to my friend at work they didn't work. 2 weeks later he's now dead! DEAD! Collapsing at home (not even after feeling somewhat unwell) then dead!

I'm shocked!

That really is terrible

My 3rd Gen click wheel ipod finally died on me today.
It's been coming up with the 'sad ipod' icon for the last month, and I've been constantly restoring it. I restored again this morning, and it didn't do any good.
Time to accept defeat methinks.
I'm actually really upset...

Did he smack it against the table a few times? It's a good trick.

Annoying me today- half the people who said they'd bring stuff for the work party today didn't. I have to run to the store. Grrr.

Annoying/upsetting me is that my grandad's lung has collapsed, he had one removed about 8 years ago and now his only one has collapsed. Intensive care have said they aren't taking him because he is too ill and he has needed to be resusitated three times. I don't want sympathy posts, most of them will be fake anyway, i just needed to get it off my chest abit.

I had a 3rd Gen iPod for ages. I loved having the buttons separate from the clickwheel. I now have a Zune instead. For some obscure reason I figured having video capability was a good thing. Actually, the radio in the Zune is much more useful! The battery on the iPod was getting a bit lame anyway, and although I could have replaced that I went for the all new shiny thing option.

I'm sure my next purchase is going to be an iPhone though.

Console, when you log on, can you tell me if there is some kind of problem with aled.info? I've been trying to access it since Thursday, and my screen is showing, "database error", and I can't go any further than that.

Well, the fact that Viv is doing all of this isn't annoying me at all, I couldn't be more pleased for her. Annoying me though is that reading it really forces me to realise that I need to sort myself out and get some purpose back into my life since stopping work. I am so bored, and its entirely my own fault. Once Joel is settled into school I really do have to get a life.

The database server has failed and the server people either haven't noticed or haven't fixed it yet.

I second that emotion ! Although I am not actually bored, and enjoying being at home allot. But I need to start to do something soon. A course in basic web site construction would be quite interesting I think, luckily not in Aryshire though!

Captain Calamity and Caldwell the Clown. Or the Celtic central defence are everyone else would know them.

I'd say 'that wee judas miller', but I knew he'd score today and stuck money on it. Pity it was only a pound, but I never win football bets.

I knew you would be, but I'll forgive you as I know its only to maximise the 'Get in right up ye' factor. Had the result gone the other way I'm sure you'd have been a Celtic fan.

That should be 'get it right up ye' and not 'get in right up ye' which would be a whole different story. Or different hole story perhaps.

All in all, my recent experience of Celtic and Rangers fans is that Celtic fans are slightly less of a bunch of irritating arses when they start prattling on about it so I would tend to side with them on that basis. That said - I need to deal with the Rangers guy at work tomorrow so i'll stick on the baddies side if that's alright with your good self.
