Yeah, I mean I would struggle to live on £25m as well.
You say it's an extreme case, and to a degree you'd be right, but (and I realise some drivers pay for their place) all the top drivers are paid well, none of them struggle to make a crust and that's because they're good at what they do - the same is true of footballers, regardless of whether or not they make X amount more than the average F1 driver.
Teams have a certain amount of money to spend on their personnel, the amount they are prepared to spend is in direct relation to how much they have to spend, obviously. Football has big money sponsors, packs out 40,000 stadiums every week and has less to spend on engineering and technlogy; F1 also has the sponsors, packs out circuits only 16 times a year (less races but more people per race) and have to spend more money on constantly changing technology.
The fact is, as Quincy said, if you are going to make any decent amount of money in sport, you have to be extremely good.
