python was funny, but it was also really dumb. going back and rewatching it now, there are so many forgettable bits that, well... people forget. so they just focus on the dumber ones that are more memorable.

There was plenty of satirical and strange comedy around then, but it was all on radio, and the quality was amazing. Monty Python was just the first show to put it on TV - and then of course to export it. I'm not a massive fan, bits are funny, but it is inevitably dated I find. But I love the programmes Terry Jones and Michael Palin are making now.
