Just got this in an email from from my Mum but havn't tried it. Thought it may be worth a go. Would be superb if this works:

Good reason to own a cell phone:
If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone.

Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on
their end. Your car will unlock.

Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, You can unlock the doors (or the boot).

In a similar way you can increase the range at which your electronic key fob works by "using your head". The shape and composition of the human acts as an excellent electronic amplifier (don't ask me why, it just does). So you can increase the range at which your fob activates the car's locks by holding your fob to your head as you press it.

Try it later it really works. Lock/unlock your car whilst walking away until it doesn't work (due to being out of range) then hold the fob to your temple, put your head between the car and the fob, and repeatedly press the button, it may take some time but eventually the car will unlock.
It's brlliant.

If I'd locked my keys in the car, I doubt I'd visit ChrisMoyles.net immediately. This isn't likely to be a problem for me anyway though, as I don't own a car and although my dad does sometimes give me his car keys to get things out of the car, I have never yet locked them inside it.
