what are some good long songs? i often get stuck DJing at odd hours of the night with little brain power. it's mostly to baby sit the transmitter so it doesn't get lonely.

songs that are 15-20 minutes long are perfect for this. i just played "autobahn" by kraftwerk. now i'm playing some dance song. any suggestions?

Show of Hands, Track 15 from the Backlog album, it's 22 minutes long and called Tall Ships, and is about a group of Cornich villagers who set false lights to wreck a boat as there skint, and tradegy it turns out the family who set the fire's son was returning on the ship to bring them wealth and happiness, and they killed him inadvertantly.

Fantastic moody song with long voiced intro's and atmosphere.

I remember when Mike Read was on Breakfast. He was pretty good actually, except for his incredibly annoying habit of pronouncing the word "seagulls" as "seagles". Used to wind me up somthing chronic, that did......

Actually, he did - he had a bit of a thing about them I seem to remember. He did his guitar lessons from a book in the studio too, from Bert Weedon's Play In A Day guitar lessons. He made Bert Weedon into a bit of a cult figure, had him on the show once I remember. Mike Read was very good.
