A little early I know, but I thought hey ho, lets hit the ground running.

For me it's

"Merry Christmas Everyone" - Shaking Stevens. (for the dance floor)

"Little Drummer boy" - David Bowie / Bing Crosby (for sitting around the Christmas tree).

It does for me too, and probably would be my fave, but it's (in my humble opinion) somewhat overplayed at the festive time. Plus you can't really get up and dance to it.

I love Christmas singles. Fairytale of New York is amazing, I like the old ones too, the Dean Martin and Bing Crosby jobs - but I have to say, my favourite actually surprises even me - it's Saviour's Day by Cliff Richard. Who I don't normally like at all.

When you say "we" - have they discovered a new kind of vegan-friendly lamb?! Or will you just eat the flat bread and bitter herbs?!

Isn't last Christmas a bit of a gay tune ?

Gave you my heart and the very next day you gave it away.

Who gives Offal as a gift ?

The lyrics and video to Last Christmas are so annoying - I mean, if they were together for Christmas just last year, how is she going to not remember or recognise him? Or maybe she had some sort of breakdown when she realised she'd had an affair with an ugly, fat, hairy repressed homosexual, and had effectively blocked the whole episode from her memory. Or maybe I'm over analysing lyrics again.

The reason Christmas and the songs alike work so well is it taps into an area of our mind which reminds of the joy and magic from our childhoods, and we aspire to live up to that again, theres a challenge, for me its the pogues i spose, its not naff or cringey like everything else, proper crimbo was rubbish but the video as expected was funny.
