Anyone watch it last night? I thought it was excellent; I was afraid it would be a bag of sh*te, given that comedy comebacks often are, but it had a superb mix of seriousness and funny moments and was very well done.

I agree, very good indeed, the pathos was played stupendously, and the trailer for looking after little Dave on Friday, what time till, Monday, is the best insight into getting grandparents to baby sit ever, to the extent we have rechristained both our children Little Dave, Ellie's not too chuffed though !

I can't bear Teh Royle Family, I find it alternately makes me want to scream or cry. Don't do much laughing.

It's produced by Itv Productions though - or Granda as it says on the endcap says on itv produced shows on non itv channels, like countdown for example. If a countdown dvd was released it would also be under the ITV dvd banner.

yeah, I know what you mean but if it's a Granada production, it doesn't get released by ITV because it's a production company, not a distribution company.

Yeah, thats what I was trying to say. All of itv's traditional regional production arms like Yorkshire, LWT etc are now under one broad group called "Itv Productions", so at the end of shows like Corrie now instead of saying "Granada productions" it says "Itv productions". However since Itv Productions make things for other channels like Countdown, Royle Family and BBC1's The Street, they put "Granada" to avoid confusion, regardless weather Granada of old did make it (eg Countdown is made by the old Yorkshire TV)

Yes, even though it did seem like clips from a whole series worth of episodes edited into one long episode

Well, it did say you had a lot of catching up to do!

When it began there was half an hour of footage happening supposedly in real-time like the telly had become a mirror.

I really enjoyed the documentary after it, its everything sunday telly should be since we've lost spitting image, ah well.
