Should Moyles get a Mac??

Anyone on here using a Mac? I have one (oddly enough for video editing) but wouldn't want to use it for anything else!!

Anyone got a good argument FOR getting a Mac??

Has he mentioned about buying one again?

Apple Mac's used to be a Niche market, but its seem everyone and anyone buying these days. I think with the rapid development of Apple iPods etc, I think the awareness of Apple has increased. They are really stylish and whenever im about see loads of people with ibooks, powerbooks and macbooks.

I have admit that I have a few problems with accessing various websites or using applications, I think I need to get firefox again because safrai is awful. Overall all I use my mac for at the moment is to listen to music, watch dvds and go on the internet.

Moyles should def. get one - having said that mine is over two years old so he'd probably be getting a top range model.

Anyone been to the apple store in london?

Er, yes.

I'm not very technical with computers but what's so bad about Macs?

I have one and prefer it to PC's in pretty much every way. Can't think of any reason to switch at all.

Also Adam, Safari isn't awful.

As far as I know, there isn't anything wrong with Macs (Infact I prefer OSX to Windows anyday), I think it's purely a case of PC's are more common and so people know how to use them more. If you had a Mac though, it wouldn't take long to learn it's differences.

I'm fairly certain you can do word processing, programming, emailing, instant messaging and web-browsing on a Mac too.

You can get a double-click mouse. Hence the Mini Macs.

word to you qunicy! for your money, macs just aren't worth it. they look cute, and people who buy them think they're getting way more than the plebes using pc's, but it's not that much different, just costs more. i say this as somebody who used macs exclusively from 1987-2004.

i just built a pc, and it is awesome for my gaming. i can kill anything with my 8 button mouse. i'm so happy i got it.

Funny thing is that if you watch TV you would think more people own macs than pcs the way they are always chosen for looking better on screen

There's no point to macs. You can do more on a PC than you can on a Mac.

In my opinion as for this 'learning how to use a mac' thing is poppycock. I can easily use both but because of expenditures we ended up with a PC. So far the differences are nowadays irrelevant.

me too, which is why i switched. i've also found that the more i like to be able to tweak are mess with things, the less i like macs.

Depends what you want to do with it. Hasten to add, this is a completely untechinical viewpoint!

I find the lower end macs very user friendly and great for someone who just wants a safe, secure, straight forward, reliable computer that does the basics.

However, the price and availability of additonal software for the machines can be terrible. If your happy with the basics (word processing, small scale video editing, etc) then it could be a nice machine for you.

Editing gap to come
