The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Howdy folks, I only pop in from time to time, I hope everyone is well.

Now we all remember the cheap, low-budget Channel5 show in which the format was pretty much the style of Quizmania or..lets say an ITV2 show.

That was never going to give our Moyles-meister the freedom to stretch his belly forth and entertain all was it? I can remember watching it and thinking "the big man needs to strut his stuff more"....

Thankfully, 3 years on he's done just that on Celebrity X Factor. And NOW..the doomed ITV have come over with the begging bowl offering Chris his own show. And you know what? Its of no surprise to me! He's going to be a rich man's Wossy in no time, you'll see. A proper show and he'll be in his element for sure.

He's so much more than Davina too, whose chatshow went and flopped.

He can pull anything off, hes learned the lessons and now hes gonna reap the rewards.

it's odd, because yesterday i was looking at the board and chris h. seemed to be tweaking it, and there were sections about tv reviews which have gone...

ok then, I have backup :P - try page 131 on teletext - an extension of ITv itself, knock that one down!!

Teletext doesn't confrim any thing as fact. The title of the page itself is a question, and it just reports that "it's said" which in other words means "there's a rumour".

Aye alright then I'll give yer that, but it was the main story. It makes sense to me, I'd bet good money on it being true. For those who got this wrong, all I was doing really was just speculating how it might pan out should he take up their supposed offer. I found the story(s) to be pretty well founded with info that fitted into the claim. We'll see what happens anyway, hes been branching out right left centre this year xfactor/book/hotelbabylon.

Doesnt this tell you hes a man of ambition?

No,it tells you he wants the cash. All of these tie into more publicity for the Radio show more than anything else.

As Roy Walker "Well if you say so!"

I dont question his loyalty to the show itself, this is his primary profession of course, dont get me wrong.

He is merely reviewing his options, do you think hes gonna be on the radio forever? There will come a point when he'll have ruled at the top of the radio tree for a considerable amount of time.

Does he wanna do tv or is it not his specialist field. Is he capable of being a telly star to rival Wossy, these are the questions I'm asking, as I really dont know but I'd like to think hes got potential, wouldnt you?

I really hope he doesn't do a tv show. I always liked Moyles when he wasn't a celebrity.

I've always got the impression that Chris would like to dabble in TV, but he knows that when he's on it, he isn't a patch as good as when he's on the radio. Case in point - "Live with Chris Moyles", at the time seemed a good idea but essentially he was crap, the show was crap and everyone knows it was just a big pile of crap. That's enough to put Chris off doing a TV show on his own ever again, and he knows it. Chris's tv career will be limited to appearances like X-factor and hotel babylon as well as interviews rather than a show all to himself. Anything else would be foolish, as he and everyone else knows Radio is what he's best at

Yeah I think when you take a high profile job like that fame just happens to you and ya cant help it, sadly.

I'm gonna against myself now and say that the shows main appeal is that it talks the audience's language. Hes not 'up in the air' and doesnt do many personal appearences on TV anyway.

I've changed my mind. Unless of course he gets offered a small show, something on the scale of Russel Brand or dare I say it..the dickhead that is..christian o connell *le gasp*.

When it comes to celebrity, his voice is the true star I think.

OK now I'm really hopping from radio to tv land and cant stay in either pond!!

Just think back to X Factor again, I still cant get over how well he came across. Lets not forget hes essentially an entertainer. I agree 'presenting' is not his fort at all, infact far from it. It would have to be a situation based show, for example 'chris and dave unplanned' after frank skinner and co, who too are quite relaxed figures.

How about this for a motto - the bigger the stage..the better he does. like I said on the opening post, the show around him in 2003 was utterly shit, chris evans for gods sake, the answers no isnt it? Its complicated and before I start getting too muddled up in myself I'll leave it there. I do believe he has potential on the evidence I've seen.

As Louis Walsh would say "I like it!"

You are basing this alone on that his X-factor performance was quite good. In this case that rugby geezer nobody knew should have his own show! (I'm just twisting your words here of course!;))

Seriously though, it's unfair to compare X-factor to live with Chris Moyles - as the only thing they have in common is Moyles on the box. He wasn't even doing the same job in either of them.

As for "the bigger the stage" comment, well perhaps. No doubt X-factor was his best TV performance to date, but when you compare "Live with..." to "The Chris Moyles Show" on Play UK, the smaller stage comes out on top (only just though), plus with many long term listeners prefering Moyles on radio when he was doing the smaller stages of Drivetime or even early breakfast (yeah the ratings are better, but that comes with the breakfast show, I am talking quality not quantity), I think your motto needs a little work!

I prefer Chris on the Radio, i'd hate for him to get another tv show only for it to flop like "Live With" did.

I really think that he should do his own TV show. He was ok when he had his Channel 5 show and since X Factor, he has got more status, he was soooooo funny on X Factor. He definatley should do it!!!

I hope he doesn't do it. It would be a disaster.

I think he will. It's the medium he's loved all his life and the medium he is a genius on.

Is he capable of being a telly star to rival Wossy, these are the questions I'm asking, as I really dont know but I'd like to think hes got potential, wouldnt you?

I don't think he could even come close.

I have many views on the subject and will try to state them without contradiction :D

I think a show of his would be whatever chris makes it, if he tries hard, plans it and thinks of many good ideas down the pub or as he has said before on the toilet it might be good

he also must have changed slightly in those years since his flop on five , being on radio and building up a fan base may help as shown on x factor

it also depends on what type of show it is for example if he follows in vernons shoes and does gameshow or like christian o connell as said before it might be good but if he does just a random show like if one on five I dont think it will succeed

itv is different to five more publicity should equal more viewers

sorry so many points :D dont moan

This forum had the exclusive when I broke the story. If they find the right format for him it could work but he's not really a natural for tv. He always looks to me like a startled rabbit caught in a cars headlights.

Personally I don't see what the deal is with Chris. When he did the happiness-penis thing this morning just as I was waking up that was it I couldn't listen anymore!
