Just watched the first show On-Liiiine and it is hysterical. It's the tackiest panel show that's ever been made and the behind the scenes stuff is brilliant. You can imagine that this is what it's really like on Buzzcocks or Have I got...etc.

Jonathon Ross as a caring Nazi SS Trooper...Genius!

Saw this last week online, and is an absolute class act. Far too good for BBC3

I dunno, it's very VERY similar in style to * and Bull story and does remind me a lot of Marrion and Geoff as well

Modern Toss is the most over-rated website/book/show type thing ever.

Sounds like a load of old toss to me.

I thought it was ok, but I was left wondering about how they were going to carry it on over an entire series. They could do a marvellous job, it could be a pile of crap; for me, it can still go either way.

its no funnier than Saxondale really and as for Modern Toss, I liked it but still prefer Charlie Brooker's TV Go Home as a sort of internet website to TV show

Haven't seen any of those other shows so can't comment on them so for now I think Annually Retentive and Modern Toss are two of the most original and funny things I've seen for a long time.

Annually retentive isn't that original actually. It's desperatly borrowing from "The Larry Sanders Show", a US show which is on one of the ITV digital channels - 4 I think. Check it out as it's really funny.

Doesn't mean to say Brydon's effort is any less good though

Doesn't mean to but does anyway

What? Do you mean he doesn't mean to borrow from Larry Sanders? I very much doubt that - Brydon strikes me as a very comidically aware performer so it's no accident the two shows are very similar - he knows whats funny.

No I meant that even though you were saying that it doesn't mean to say Brydon's effort is any less good, it still does.

Does what? Make it less good do you mean? Don't mean to pick but your sentances aren't really making much grammatical sense, maybe its just me.

nah sorry it was my fault, and to think I'm a student of English Language in all! all I was saying basically was that, IMO, what Sanders tries to do with his show seems better than what Brydon is trying to do with his.

a better attempt

True, although to be fair Sanders had almost 6 years to perfect his method, Brydon has had 1 episode.

maybe its just me but I didnt find his other show on BBC 2 (The Keith Barret Show) all that special either. However I did enjoy Director's Commentary on ITV so I suppose you could say its swings and roundabouts.
