Rachel would just tell you that what ever Rob Dj puts down as his answer is official in the eyes of the quiz

this is pretty rare - chris staying on past 10 just because he wants to (and not because he has to eg glasto last year)! i normally turn radio 1 off at 10 because whiley is SO bad but this is great! helmut cheise, new legend.

err, it was obviously because Jo Whiley was late.

Todays show, especially the last half hour, was brilliant!

err, if you look at the time of my post you'll see that at that time they hadn't said that she was just late. normally in the past when she's been late they've been pretty honest about it.

but never mind.

on another point, just to show she's a muppet again, was that on her opening link whiley said 'blah blah it must have been confusing hearing moyles at 10:15 - you might have thought you were late for a meeting' or something similar. if you heard moyles at the point you should have been in a 10:15 meeting then you'd presume that you were actually early, not late.

but then again, i suppose she's blond. and stupid. and the luckiest person in the world to have a great job like that when she has little or no presenting/interviewing skills at all.

How dare Chris have a go at the great Justin Lee Collins,he sounded so bitter this morning,he should just accept that he didn't have the ability to be a TV star and move on.

So Chris can't say he doesn't like anyone on TV simply because Chris hasn't been as successful on there as on Radio? Get over yourself, Chris said he is sure Justin is a nice bloke in real life but found him annoying on TV. If you think Chris is going to pander to being nicey nicey to every celeb going on TV then you clearly know nothing about him or the show

I don't think Halle Berry was being "miserable" at all. If someone made disparaging remarks about your group (be it racial, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, etc.) and it’s something you have had to endure your entire life, you may be a bit “ratty” as well.

Although Ms. Berry was not in America at the time of the interview (where the history of the Black race has been fraught with inequality and injustice), she no doubt can detect when something said is insensitive at the least or blatantly racist at the most.

The references to a "big, fat, black guy" making someone “put (their) hands in the air” as if he is a robber, is racist. Even if Chris denied the intent of the statement as being racist, he should re-evaluate his perception of black people.

Would he characterize Americans of other ethnicities (Asian, Latino, or Caucasian) as robbers? Is that the extent of his exposure to black people? Big (ominous), fat (connotations of laziness), and black (gangsters, whores, criminals, etc.) are all false generalizations that have been imposed on African-Americans for centuries.

If one perpetuates those stereotypes, even in just, s/he negates all of the progress people of African decent have contributed to the world.

Chris has been given the gift of spreading his message to the world. He should do so with integrity and responsibility.

Sorry, but that sounds racist to me!! Maybe it's the way you're putting it...

the history of the Black race has been fraught with inequality and injustice

Again, this sounds to me like a racist comment, but maybe it's the way you put it...

The references to a "big, fat, black guy" making someone “put (their) hands in the air” is racist.

So if you're in a bar with some friends and there's a big fat black dude with your group, he's sat in amongst a load of skinny white dudes, it's your round and you're at the bar.. you have no clue of his name or what he drinks, and you call, "hey! dude! What are you drinking?" And a skinny white guy responds, is it racist to say, "Not you, I was talking to the big black dude!"?

Perhaps "Big fat Black Guy" was the only way Chris could think to describe the male in question. Maybe if he was being overly politically correct he should have said, "African-american male, in rotund, bordering on obese, physical appearance". But let's be honest, that is not just a mouthful, that's not Mr. Moyles.

Even if Chris denied the intent of the statement as being racist, he should re-evaluate his perception of black people.

Have you spoken to every black person in the country? How many fat, black males would take offence to being described as fat and black?
I'm fat and white, I have no objection to being called a fat white guy. I'm also 6ft5 and I have no objection to being called tall.

Now you're just being pedantic!

If one perpetuates those stereotypes, even in just, s/he negates all of the progress people of African decent have contributed to the world.

Again, we're back to the description thing again. Chris was by no means "negating all of the progress people of african descent have contributed to the world." In truth, I think you need to take a chill pill.

Chris has been given the gift of spreading his message to the world.

And doesn't he do well?

Otherwise I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be talking about him.

Rant over, thanks for your input.

As the subject had been around the topic of a James Bond-type character, I interpreted his comments as him playing an (admittedly) stereotypical black cop as seen in such films as Lethal Weapon on Beverly Hills Cop. I think the "fat" comments was referring to Chris's own weight and the "black guy" comments as he later admitted he's not very good at American accents and that's one he can do.
