You mean PM'ing them with bulls**t. I think Jono banned one kindly dubbed as "Douggie" for PM'ing various people with the same message (including myself). With a link to a petition asking Scott Mills to release the "your call" beds and various jingles from his show. Also it was done with Jono's email address and in his name when it clearly wasn't him. This guy by the looks of it looked like a loon. That was reason enough for me.

You still need a basic grasp of English to teach any subject, surely. Not knowing the difference between 'to' and 'too' (and possibly 'two', I wouldn't put it past you) is a severe hindrance to teach any subject because in all probability you will confuse the kids; they will get conflicting information between you and the other (intelligent) teachers.

exactly topher.

Oliver you are not a teacher and you are annoying me with the fact that you haven't gone "haha had you fooled, I was just messing" or something.

If you do it now there will be no hard feelings. However, if you continue to bullsh*t us with your whole "i aint a english teacher i dunno bout that i dont want to use punctuation but I AM A TEACHER" I will continue to be very annoyed. AND WE DON'T WANT THAT, DO WE?

How's that possible?

And Topher, what you said is totally on the button. You also have to pass an English, Maths and Science test to teach any subject to any age group. They are government set tests that all teachers must complete to get their qualification during their time at teacher training college. The English test is 99% related to getting tenses right, putting apostrophes in the right places, spelling correctly and generally it makes sure you have a very sound gip on English grammar and the English language.

However, that said, I don't write things in this forum as well as I would when I was teaching so we have to give Oliver some benfit of the doubt but admiting you don't know the difference between to, too and two is quite scary. Next he'll be telling us he doesn't know the difference between there, their and They're of your and you're.

Im surprised you need to have passed a science test to teach, say, Art. English and Maths does make sense though.
Are there any advantages to teaching in the private sector, that you know of? Do you get better pay in that case?

You do get better pay for teaching at private schools but then I worked at a private school during my training and it was horrible.

I made a mistake above. You don't need to pass a science test, it's ICT (Or IT as it used to be known). You need to pass English, Maths and ICT.
