Haven't seen it posted anywhere else so - http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2006170126,00.html

If it's anywhere near correct I'm a bit shocked about Scott and Zane's pay. They have the be Radio 1's top Dj's along with Moyles.

Sara Cox £200k for 2 days? Money well spent eh.

Colin 'and' Edith have become a joke, they are hardly ever on air together anymore, they ought to have £170k to share.

To be fair to C&E, I think it's good how one can do the show without the other. I hate it when they have to mess about with the schedule when a DJ goes on holiday.

Colin or Edith.

And the Sun is a bit well..... would you trust a paper with something dodgy on page 3?

So you'd trust the Daily Mail instead?

According to the Evening Standard Lite this lunchtime, Moyles earns 630k a year, with Jo Whiley earning 250k, the next highest salary.

For some reason it then goes on to say that this means he pockets £15 a minute of Tax Payer's money while he's on the air.

This is interesting. 630k a year? Jesus.

Thanks McQueen, I've posted this on the homepage now.

I'm surprised Colin Murray's on more than Mills. Scott's been there twice as long surely..

Sara Cox still sitting pretty, sheerly amazing.

She earns 200k a year for talking about her family on air in an annoying voice for a few hours every weekend.

Makes you wonder if any callers will have a pop at him when he returns.

Although The Sun's accuracy for reporting is well documented (see the Rooney apology on the same page!!), a Beeb spokesman has said how disappointed they are at the figures coming out so it suggests they're pretty accurate.

It's when you think of it as £15/minute which really bowls you over - and I bet that's including song time! 8O

Saying that, I'm still looking forward to him coming back on air.

From Media Guardian:
The BBC is to launch an internal investigation after the salaries of EastEnders stars and Radio 1 DJs were leaked to the press. The corporation believes a BBC insider may have accessed a computer database containing extensive staff salary details and is investigating where the security lapse could have occurred.

A spokeswoman for the BBC said: "Clearly we are very unhappy that this information has been leaked. We would never discuss salaries. We are looking into it."

A lot more than I expected (I was expecting him to be on about 130k) but I do think he's worth every penny!

Any ideas what Dave is on? :)

Are you reading this thread Radio?

The last two pages are about that.

Some of the comments on Media Guardian about this are quite amusing..

What nonsense! At £630,000 my old mate Moyles is a bargin. He'd be worth twice as much in the commercial sector. Anyone who says otherwise has no idea what they're talking about.

Good old Nick eh. Also this made me laugh:

I think Chris is worth every penny. In fact, he should be paid more. Then again, I would say that, as I run his local cake shop.

Also get this, Chris is raking in £446,068 more than the prime minister Tony Blair and £171,000 more than his ultimate boss, the director-general of the BBC Mark Thompson.
