it's a question that comes up quite often down the pub with my mates but just how much do you think Chris Moyles is on a year?

He's got 7.5 mill listeners and is really the only reason to listen to Radio 1 (Zane Low disregarded) so just how much do the big wigs in Radio 1 pay him?

I reckon about £180,000 a year, but thats probably being conservative.

And what about Dave £60/70 thou a year?

He did mean to say wedge, as in 'wedge of cash'.

I honestly thought people had better things to talk about than how much celebrities earn.

If you really want to know - you can write to the BBC and have it explained to you via the Freedom of Information Act. I'm not sure if that includes Employee Salaries.

Well you know how it is - variety is the spice of life. You don't want to talk about football and women all night.
There's a time and a place for culture in the local boozer.

Alright people, you are ruining a perfectly good thread here.

Adam, why is it a stupid question? I am certainly interested in knowing how much Chris earns.

Oh and bouncinblue - I understood the title. I'd say he gets paid maybe £250k?

Cheers - Johnathan Ross's chat show gets about 7 mill viewers on the weekend as does his radio show and he's on 3 mill a year so Moyles could be even better off than that.

Is Ross employed by the BBC? And does he have seperate contracts for radio and TV?

Well if Jo Whiley is getting paid £275k a year and Scott Mills is on £250k. Chris will easily be paid around £500k.

Capital Radio are paying Johnny Vaughn £750k which does not seem fair

Didn't Moyles say that his Mum looks after most of his money. I'd never let my mother do that. I'd be living on a fiver a week.

being on the radio is the most insecure job you can have so he's gotta make hay while the sun shines specially while its shining out of parfitt's backside!

If I hadn't of said anything, one of the regulars would of done it. So why am I getting the stick? Anyway, I'm sorry if my misinterpretation offended anybody.

Even though it *was* a good thread, why does someone have to bring it up again?

*Back on topic*

Sure he's at least on £150k+. If he is on anymore, what an easy job to get paid for 8) compared with the top earning london big wigs.

The media guardian reported that Chris Moyles had signed a 7 figure deal to remain at Radio One for a few more years. It does not say for how many years but if it`s 3 that is at least £300k pa
