What a difference to Radio 1 weekends now.. awful.

Spoony = Doufus
Vernon = Alrightish
Coxy = Damn right awful.........too loud!
JK and Joel = Another matter.......

Since Moyles moved to breakfast, the output of Radio 1 has suffered except for Scott Mills on afternoons and Zane Lowe.

Moyles on Saturday morning was great. And, lest we forget, home of the legendary Comedy Dave 'Cheese' song. I remember listening to that live walking out of a train station, giggling like a daft 'un.

I remember Chris saying he didn't even remember doing the Cheese song when they asked for highlight requests at the end of that year. It just goes to show, the best bits of Moyles were spontanious.

I'm sure they ended up having to use the recording off of here when they wanted to play it back.

In my opinion, this was Radio 1's 'golden era', and when I started listening devotedly to the station.

Every daytime show had a unique facet or selling point, and the back-up DJs were good cop too (Vicky Marsden, Sarah HB, Emma B, etc.).

The swapping of Cox and Moyles I could just about cope with, but the removal of Mark and Lard, as well as the introduction of incompetent DJs such as Vernon, Spoony & Fearne Cotton marked the beginning of the end for me.

I occasionally listen to Moyles now, but stick mostly to the evening shows. Radio 2 seems to have more of an allure these days...

...talking of which, did anyone catch her covering for Dermot O'Leary on Radio 2 yesterday afternoon? She sounded on good form.

Better than Dermot, but then, my dog would be better than Dermot presenting a radio show.

It was R1's worst years in terms of ratings and that "era" is judged a disaster.

As Televison often proves, ratings are not the deciding factor to weather something is good or awful.
