The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I still sometimes enjoy the show but for me it is going down hill. I was really enjoying the show last year, between June and December, they had some real good guests, including the record breaker Ricky Gervais!

Hope they get there act together soon else they will be losing all the listeners its gained.

In my opinion, the show was going down hill a lot in the last couple of months of last year, Christmas being a major disapointment. However I'd say this years shows have so far been excellent.

Steve Coogan and Rob Byrdon is one of the funniest things I've ever heard on the show, and I've been a listener since 98.

I've always said Moyles is at his best without guests. But maybe thats not what a breakfast audiance want.

I hope that's a joke, I think they were the best guests that have ever been on the show.

Karl wouldn't be funny on his own, he's only amusing because Ricky and Steve make him tell stories, which turn out to be ludicrous.

I don't think I can nag about the show, it's still making me laugh, although I'm not particuarly a fan of the guests usually.

The show is class at the minute.

Was going to start a big separate thread about how good it is the other day - but then I realised the whole point of the website is because Chris is so good, so people already know that.

Listening to old Moyles shows from 97/98 and shows from now is a very diferent experience, but they are still both very funny... shows how he has been one of Radio 1's true greats - to still be producing superb radio after almost a decade there.

I think the problems are that the jokes are not funny and really predictable. Also, the guests are poor, Ricky Gervais and Yvette Fielding have been the only interviewees in the last year where I've laughed during the show. Also, the music isn't great at the moment, some of the dance crap that's on is disappointing and it's all to repetitive. Today's show was great with Dom, but he can't do the show on his own, I think the other members are taking it for granted that people like the show who listen, and they're not putting the effort in. CPC should have stayed and I think that's the only feature that's worked. I like the quiz though. The 7-8 features like Tarzan and Sting Ring never really worked for more than a week in my opinion. With that in mind though, it's the only good thing on at 7-10 so I'll be listening tomorrow!

for a national radio show, the majority of the set features which I have heard are a bit pants.

What has run consistent through moyles work in the past has always has been the interaction between chris and dave providing the majority of brilliant moments.

To me, I may be wrong- that there's too much on air input for my liking from other members of the team which is having a negative effect on the potential hilarity which is more often then not created by chris and dave.

Saying this, the breakfast show audience has sky rocketed since the team took over, so people are obviously liking something...but I just can't help feel it could maintain a mainstream appeal whilst rediscovering its more edgier, nastier slant of past.

I think stevo may be right.

Carrie and Rachel bering nothing to the show. There's two voices that could go straight away.

I agree with the Carrie and Racheal comment David.

It seems that Carrie's main purpose other than reading the sports news is to rattle on about sportsmen she fanices.

I really can't stand Racheal. Her voice isn't the best, which is something that can be overlooked if she says amusing things. Problem is she doesn't. In fact, i find her coming across petty, stroppy and not very likeable on most occasions. She may very well be a great producer, but maybe she should be concentrating on her main duties, co-ordinating the production of fantastic new ideas in place of operating in a rather pointless and forgetfull on air role.

couldnt agree more with the carrie and rachel comments. after listening to the show for so long then not really listening to breakfast for like an entire year it was a kind of shock to me whow many people there were in the studio. seemed like i didnt know who any of them where. some days on the way to work it seems like i can go the whole journey without hearing dave say a word.

I've already said in previous posts that I think that Carrie and Rachel could leave and not be missed. I think there is a place for a strong woman on the show that could give as good as she gets and stand up to Chris. It it was up to me I'd let Dom read the sport, give Carrie a research job and make Rachel one of these behind the scene people who don't speak.

As for Joce she is just a complete waste of space as far as her on air contribution to the show is concerned. She could be sacked and I wouldn't even notice.

C'mon Aled and Co surely you can find a female member of the team who's funny and can give Chris and Dom a run for their money!!!!

I can't believe that there is a thread suggesting that the show is going downhill!!

It isn't!

The guests this year have been great - I was even late into work because I couldn't turn the Rob and Steve interview off, Pual McKenna was great if for nothing more than getting Aled to tap everywhere, and Dom's interview with Derek Achora and Sam was pure comedy!

Rachel and Carrie provide the butt of many a Moyles joke, and I don't have a problem with them at all. I still find the convention of them having a bit more vocal input a little strange, but it all adds to the fun. I don't think that things would be quite as spontaneous withouot them to direct things at. (Sorry girls but that is the only real time that your voices are heard!)

The start to this year has been some of the best stuff I have heard for the past few years in all honesty - but thats just my opinion..........

You miss the point Betti.

"Give Carrie a research job" - what? She doesn't work for Radio 1 at all. She is a sports journalist contracted to BBC Sport, and does TV work on BBC London and radio work for 5 Live. Part of her job is to read the sport on Chris's show (as chosen by him), but she is a sports journalist at the end of the day.

Rachel "one of these behind the scene people who don't speak" - she IS! She is the producer (who are not meant to speak), it is just that Moyles makes his producers speak on air. No one else on the station does. As for Joce, it is Chris's choice to involve her and make her speak on air - I'm certain its not in her job description.

While I appreciate your point re Carrie MC I'm not sure that you understand mine re Rachel. What I'm saying is she shouldn't speak on the show as the presence of she nor Carrie impact the show in a positive way.

Again I believe that a stronger, funnier female would be an asset to the show. The current two perpetuate the belief that all women do is drink, eat and eye up men.

Surely it is Chris who is peddaling that stereotype rather than themselves. He would do it with whatever women were on the show. Afterall he paints himself as a fat lazy slob etc

But its not Chris who's the problem here.... its Carrie and Rachel. I'm sure that they are intelligent and competant woman in real life but they just haven't got what it takes to be funny in a radio show.

Sat is up Also i think Chris is off all this we[…]
