In a Interview with the Guardian today Chris said that in the coming years he will be looking at "transfering the show over to stage". Should be Interesting. He also said he wants to break the record as the longest serving Breakfast Host by doing double figured years- 10+.

Moyles intends to develop something more than the traditional breakfast show, to extend his brand. He wants to create a television spin-off and is considering a stage version, after the successful transfers to theatre of Little Britain and The League of Gentlemen.

That is an excellent article.

Can you imagine Chris still being there in 8 years?

He'll be nearly 40, that won't work, surely.

I reckon he could easily still be on R1 in 8 years.... not sure about the breakfast show... but it would be good to see.

There is a major lack of funds - the money thing is really difficult. We just don't get enough money and it's really frustrating because we do a lot of really good stuff, but it costs money. The argument is that [lack of funds] makes you be a little bit more creative, but after a while that argument gets extremely tedious."

I have an idea do save some money, don't send the team to Germany for the football, after all let's face it, what did going to the last Euro matches achieve. Let's fact it virtually every link whilst he was out there was with all the England players and Manager weren't they!!!! Could have easily been broadcast from London.

Just think with all that licence money fee saved, there will be more in the pot to be creative with.

Anyone agree, I doubt it

well ... he tries to copy Howard Stern. His show is also filmed and cutted to the best bits shown on tv.

Chris often copied stern before: same voice (paul turner), naked chick in the studio (chris did it once with a girl who showed him her tatoo - he also, like stern, covered the studiowindows with newspaper), same kind of shock jock style and some fart-jokes. Doesn't play a lot of music (when stern started 20 years ago he had to play music and switched into talk radio, chris from time to time plays one song half an hour)

I mean it's ok - to copy, or lets say to be influenced by someone is just right... the problem is just that chris is on the bbc and cannot joke about minoritys like gay ppl or blacks. and he cannot air 1.30minutes of farting sounds over a classic tune

for the irony: on siriusstern and moyles air against each other (stern from 6 to 10.30am, chris from 7 to 10).

it's so huge cuz of all the strippers gettin naked - so they have some space between 5 sexual guys and a woman in a basin.

aaaand you need this huge sofa to play a very nice butt bongo... on a strippers butt!

also you need some space to work with a camera-crane...

You should hear the show that came from. Stern's show is now only available through Sirius radio, which is unregulated in the USA. Which basically means he can say what he wants, when he wants. Which, seeing as his show typically runs for 5 hours from 6am and is without music or commercials, leads to some interesting conversation. I'd love to hear what the Moyles team could come up with in the same environment.

This page gives a pretty detailed description of what was said that couldn't be done on any radio station in the country.

Not entirely people can still sue his ass if he slanders them.

Howard Stern: what a card! If only The Chris Moyles Show was like that. I think Chris Moyles should do many more jokes about the gays and the blacks, and many more rude sound-effects.

I'm a bit bemused by Chris' reference to a "list of characters that everybody . . . knows". What characters are these? Longman? Jingle Justin? Terry Wogan and Ken Bruce? King Of Tickets?

When Chris Moyles has an audience to whip up, it all tends to go a bit wrong. There is pantomime and childishness and rabbit costumes. I think the stage show should evoke Beckett and Brecht. That would be more felicitous.

Where did Jingle Justin go?
