Hi all,

New member here- just wanted to ask a question that's been bugging me for a while.

What is the sound clip that Chris plays of a ringing phone, then someone answering and shouting what sounds like 'PAPA?' all about? I obviously wasn't listening when they originally did this.

Aww please guys. I know I'm a new member here and might be asking something blindingly obvious, but this question has had 60-odd viewings today (or maybe just 60 odd viewings!) and I refuse to believe that nobody who listens to Moyles gets this gag.

basically, a while ago there was a phone in for cricket tickets, and the winning person who answered the phone had to shout 'papaaa', and it's been used ever since.

Oh thank you. It all makes sense now. Well, nearly. Why did they choose the word 'Papa?' What did it have particular relevance to that day?

It was all to do with a cricket competition. They had a sound effect of a cricket match...like atmosphere. And so there was random shouting, clapping..etc. And someone on this effect shouted 'pappa' and Chris and co. picked up on it and then mad eit into this gag.

Oh man, that rings a bell now, I remember the cricket field and the person shouting what sounded like 'papa'- but I obviously missed the show when they elaborated the gag.

I did suspect it had something to do with the old Renault Clio ads though!

Last question before you start to pelt me with stones...is there a soundclip of this on the site anywhere and if not, can I request one?
