I didnt listen to all of the interview on monday, only caught a bit of it.

was this just gervais begrudgingly coming on to plug his dvd cos it aint selling that well and him still hating moyles guts but realises that his listenership is huge.

or

he doesnt mind moyles now so came on anyway to have a laugh

Anyone think Gervais, Merchant and Pilkington would work on Radio 1 at the weekends?

I'm not so sure, but it cant be any worse than the current weekend line up surely.

I think Vernon is good, great music played, but Spoony?

Tooth self extraction with a pair of pilers sounds more appealing...

Maybe - They would probably have to tone it down a bit though - I doubt knob news would go down well with the BBC.

Plus there is finding the time. They would have more holidays than Coxy and Vernon put together - I'd like to see them try though

It wouldnt work. Maybe Gervais could sit in for Evans or Ross on Radio 2... I'm not sure he reaches the R1 Demographic...

Incidently... Would C4 do a shameless DVD cash in with "Meet Ricky Gervais" ala Granada's with Peter Kay's "Driven to Distraction" (which is some naff local mini series for local comics, complete with the 2 brief appearances on Corrie)

Most of R2's listeners have a heart attack every time Ross is on. Gervais would just tip a lot of them over the edge

Ross is acceptable, My old man likes Jonothan Ross and Chris Evans. It's just the "sing something simple" fans who are far too old for R2 now the demogrpahics have changed

Even if he was offered a show on Radio 1 or Radio 2, he wouldn't take it - doesn't need to. I think him and Stephen Merchant are happy enough with their current low commitment arrangement with Xfm.
