I just read this in my TV guide for Tuesday "The Great Big Bid" show.

Chris Moyles offers viewers the opportunity to host their own Radio One show. Other items up for auction include a TV dinner prepared by Jean-Christophe Novelli and a chance to meet the cast of Spooks.

they would probably notice the improvement in quality if it was presented by a turtle.

That'll be strange, having a person from the general public presenting a show. Altho it will most likely be a celeb. Which normal numpty nobody such as you and me could afford to bid so much?

I'm guessing the george michaels or richard bransons of the world are in for a chance....be hilarious if chris evans bid the most...

How much does Evans have? I was watching somthing on TV a while back saying he has quite a bit of money. And he sells all the christmas trees he grows and sends the money to charity. Nice guy.

hes worth a fortune. I was watching an interview with him on top gear. Did you know when he went potty way back, he bought a mini bus specifically to drive old people in his area to the shops for FREE. He put an advert in his local paper with this service but no one replied. He never drove the bus again...

Thats such a shame. Old people in his area don't deserve charity then. Age concern should withdraw all funding and the old biddies should be made to go back to work.

Wasn't it something like about 70 - 80 million he made when he sold his "ginger productions" company ?
On another evans point, Looking forward to his new show on itv next sunday "OFI Sunday" Hope it's along the same lines as "TFI" was. With a later timeslot at i think 10:30PM not much chance of them forcing him to pre-record after Shaun Ryder no doubt makes a guest appearance.

tfi was of the period. it would be crap now, just like it was when it was collapsed in 2000.
it happened with fantasy football, good fun at the start and then when they brough it back after a break it was boring rubbish

Yes it did collapse, could a reason for that be that it wasn't live anymore? Pre-record takes the edge off IMO

TFI was of the period, yes. So was Chris Evans. Listening to his Radio 2 show is like watching TFI in 1997. "On the phone we have Richard Curtis". The man has spent too long in London and it has made him dull

However, Dont't Forget Your Toothbrush was something that was must watch Televsion.

Just a shame it lasted only two series

I'm sure Chris was saying everyone 'bids' £1.00 and it goes 'in a hat'.

[Radio 1 - The Big Bid video] [WMV ~ 10.9MB] [Click here]

This is the first video I have ever encoded as I only got the equipment today, and it encodes it into a funny format, so I spent a wee while trying to get it into a proper format. Its OK quality, but the audio and the picture seem to go out of sync towards the end...

I thought the title of this tread was 'The great big bird'. I thought Big Bird had got his own Radio 1 show for a moment.
