It would be ok if the BBC had loads of Rugby League commentators, like in football with Motson, but he is the main one of very few. If I was a casual viewer and listened to him on the BBC I would turn off. His knowledge of the game is great, but he cannot keep up the pace, reacting to events that happened 20 seconds previous.

When Jon Champion left the beeb for ITV, he was being promoted to No 3 Beeb Commentator and Rugyb League second choice, when the Beeb had quite a bit of Rugby League.

Now, he commentates on a little Rugby during the World Cup and gets the joys of commentating on ITV2, or ITV4 CL Matches

ha clearly you haven't been to St Helens much.

they are both dumps but then in the world of Rugby league they stand head and shoulders above Widnes, Halifax, Hull, Bradford and Castleford.

indeed Wigan is chav central in all fairness, JJB is nice but i like Knowlsey Road....due to a big New Zealand player running 80 yards or so there the other week

I'm not a big fan of Knowsley Road. The words "Wide to West" will haunt me until the day I die.

Halifax isn't that bad as a place, all others I agree are crap though

halifax..awful place....and the football/rugby ground is nasty least Thrum Hall had a bit of a character about it.....shay is just nasty little hole
