Moyles totally overstepped the mark today and he plummeted in my estimations. Sure, if he thinks that thre reaction to Best Mate's death was OTT then fair enough and I dont have a go at him for that. But there was no need for him to mock like he did this morning.

My opinion of Moyles has changed forever as a result of that. I dont find many things offensive, but he pissed me off big style today. There was simply no need for it.

More people knew about this horse being dead then Robin Cook.

I never knew about the horse till I read this thread (I didn't hear that part of the show.) I did, however, know about Robin Cook. By the way I didn't cry for him either.

Horses are just trouble anyway, they clog up the roads like caravans (except they leave more sh*t behind.)

Depends who occupies the caravans.

On the contrary, I'd say that horse was far superior to some of the sub-human scum which roam the streets of every town and city in the country. It doesn't matter what species you are, if it's a celebrity that dies and people are upset, or a famous racehorse that dies and people are upset, what's the difference? They are both entertainers.

Exactly!

It's simple, I didn't know the horse, so I don't care.

As for Robin Cook, I didn't know the man, so I don't care.

This may seem flippant, but I know a child that will die as a result of Cancer, will you all cry about that? no, because it wont be reported on every bloody national news bulletin across the UK will it?

IT WAS A HORSE, TRAINED TO RACE SO FAT RICH PEOPLE COULD MAKE MONEY OUT OF POOR PEOPLE.

That's one of the main things wrong with a lot of people in this country - that people put the lives of animals before the lives of many humans - and to be that is more wrong than a throwaway comment that a DJ made (a DJ who is known for his controversial comments - why this has suprised one or two of you I have no idea)

People bringing the "animals arent as important as humans" argument into it are missing the point. We know he was 'only' a horse, but his death still didnt deserve to be mocked by Moyles. His comments were uncalled for and in bad taste.

Moyles didn't mock the death of the horse, infact he said it was a shame the horse died, what he said, however, was that it was no more than that and didn't necessarily deserve all the attention it had been given, not to mention, Joel crying about it.

I only brought that up as someone in this thread directly said that the horse was "far superior" to some "sub-human scum".

Moyles's likeness with a punctured football I agree was a bit off - if only for the fact it isn't really a like-for-like comparison and I think he himself realised that when the team weren't fully backing him - but his reasoning behind it was absolutely spot on.

But that I dont really have a problem with. Said seriously, that comment is fine. I dont agree with it, but everyone is enitled to their opinion. I just didnt like the whole tone around his comments. He had a definate mocking air about him.

Just my opinion.

Get over it.

This reminds me of that time when some kid in Liverpool (cant remember his name) was murdered just because he was black, and becuase it was widely covered by the media (they love a good racially motivated murder to sell papers) half of Liverpool turned up to his memorial service.

There are 100's and maybe 1000's of similar cases in England every year, but you don't see complete strangers turning up to thier funerals 'paying thier respects'. The same applys with this horse, why do people get so upset over a horse they see run a few races every year? Because they are jumping on the media band wagon as usual.
