I don't know if anyones noticed but Scott Mills needs pranks & additional stuff to make him look good. Scott Mills has no comedy bone what so ever. He's relied on Laura's Diary, Busting people and getting Chappers to prank call people. The evidence is clearly there. Chappers is alot more funnier than Scott by far.

Moyles and his team (Dave, Dom, Aled, Rachael & Carrie) are absolutely priceless together. The stuff they come out with just from chatting. The chemistry between them is brilliant.

Moyles doesn't need to use pranks to make his show entertaining.
Ok, there is Sting Ring, but thats the only bad thing he's done in my opinion since he's come back.

Well, I've always loved listening to Chris in the mornings, and I agree the chemistry & banter is fab. Many times I've found myself literally crying with laughter in the car on the way to work. But I've been disappointed in what I've heard so far this week

his main source of comedy moments have ALWAYS been abusing stupid callers or picking up other radio 1 djs or newsbeat readers on stupid things they have said and taking the p*ss out of them. obviously there are some features but they are mainly quizzes such as viaduct or carpark catchphrase where most of the comedy comes from abusing thickos who dont know how to play. abusing people makes up about 80% of his funnyness. he does some good parodies and there are a few little bits like spoof trails and ads ie camp cops or john cougars melon camp but theye have always been few and far between.

I switched off pretty quickly this morning. He was too arrogant this morning for my liking, and was on Dave's side when he strolled in at 7.20. Obviously they didn't pick up on the reference to Lisa I'Anson this morning.

I tuned back in for Carpark Catchphrase which was good. But didn't find it that entertaining overall.

yes he is a good dj. he is excellent with the fundamentals of being a radio dj. he has good timing etc and is obviously a massive radio geek. however he isnt a very funny man.

i understand quincy's point, but at the end of the day, you really think radio 1 would keep him on breakfast if he wasn't funny. Over 6 million people don't listen to him every day not to be entertained.

you can be funny in other ways than jokes and stuff is what i mean. abusing thick idiots is funny. abusing dave is funny. parodies are funny. but its not very clever comedy though is it. a bit childish really. innuendos, gaffs and blunders are funny but its quite poor considering how much he gets paid. i dont see how it can be denied that MOST (NOT ALL) of the funny moments from the show over 8 years have come from abusing thickos on the phone or from dave vitty.

But why does everyone have to be funny. There's no requirement for every DJ to be funny.

Moyles of course thrives on being funny, but it's not a requirement - especially at breakfast.

He's only funny because he's the kind of person you can relate to. He's not got super wit and he's not intelligent enough to come up with clever comedy.

He's the sort of person you could have a laugh with down the local. That is his appeal.
