I've done the whole "Meet up with a forum and it'll be a laugh" thing.. And granted, I meet some new people, most were nice and I have new friends. But its somthing you only do once.

And maybe you knew you'd get a responce from me like that becuase I usually like to keep posts minimal.

Because this is such a new idea that no one has come up with before.

A friend of mine is a member of efestivals. He went to the Glade Festival on his own (although tried to persuade myself and some others to come along) and met up with some people... Now they're all planning a meet up in Manchester I believe.

The trouble is that the people who are good at organising this sort of thing are invariably the annoying people you don't want to meet.

Most of the forum sites I've been on have had regular meet-ups, but then they were more generic sites rather than common interest sites, generally populated by people in their 20's & 30's, and most of us are actually mates now - some as a result of meeting through these sites, and some because we knew each other IRL before joining the boards.

This site feels different.
