Who would take him though? More to the point where would he want to be heard. He's not ready for Radio 2 in the forseeable future, and the only other realistic national option is Virgin, or maybe more local on XFM...

Moyles wouldn't be wanted there anyway. I would think Virgin.. but I must point out this wouldn't be for a few years. Chris has got at least another 2-3 years on Radio 1 breakfast if the ratings keep up.

Virgin have signed up Christian O'Connell remember. Never heard his XFM show but if he's half as good as he is on Fighting Talk then they have got themselves a great signing there.

He won't go to Virgin until DAB has rolled out more, so there's less reliance on MW.

Moyles has more pulling power though. Awards are one thing. Bankable ratings provided by a dj the majority of the general public have heard of are another.

The breakfast show has been excellent in the last few months. Let's face it too, there is no way Chris is leaving that slot for the forseeable future. He has been a huge ratings winner and with Mills doing well, the breakfast and drive ratings must be as strong as they've been for years.

i strongly disagree.

I think that the breakfast show has been crap recently. i think that chris is getting complacent. i'd put money on his figures going down next time.

i mean, how good was the show from the narrow boat? butlins? need i go on? that was embarrassingly bad radio

I agree with you on the narrowboat and Butlins shows.. they were stinkers.

What about the other stuff though?

Doing the show from Radio 2, Folkface splitting up, Celebrity Hide And Seek (Dom ringing Lisa Riley etc), Dom's Westwood impressions, Chris's Vinyl Hour - and Dave calling it a documentary, Yesterdays Weather, Say No To Wogan, Nic-Nac-Paddy Wok, Studio Sumo... plus some messageboard or other getting a mention.

To me it sounds like Moyles has been putting a lot more effort lately.

well i was different. I had to prepare for that interview for 15 minutes with Richird Murdoch (C & E's Producer). It wasn't about a choice of music either...it was to show schools are taking part in John Peel Day.
