Is it just me, or are the weekend shows just pure crap!

I tried to listen to Vernon kay, but it was very painful and i had to switch off. He constantly was saying: "with me, Vernon Kay from Bolton" and "national radio 1".

Then there's Sara Cox, enough said. And spoony, they all jsut seem to talk a load of rubbish!!

Thankfully though, Chappers and Dave are the stand in's when people are away!!

When I have turned on radio 1 during a weekend, I almost always turn it stright back off, with the one exception being Chappers & Dave (when they're on) and the Chart Show (when Wes used to do it). To me, it just seems to be a dumping ground for crap dj's that have a contract with radio 1.

Spoony does a terrible feature called "Judge Fudge". Its really hard to describe, but anyone thats heard it will know how awful it really is.

I agree that weekend mornings are pretty crap. Vernon is irritating as hell, and Spoony needs speech training. However, I think Sara Cox does a great show; she never fails to make me smile and she's definately passionate about the music she plays. I dont like Trevor Nelson's 4-7 slot. It's too early for a specialist show. JK and Joel are growing on me.

i tottally agree with you! i really think that radio 1 should leave a tape on loop at the weekends other than them pay money to people to broadcast to people being tortured with bad radio

Agreed. I just love her style. It's just so laid back and engaging, like she's actually talking to you directly.

Am I missing something here? Moyles used to be on for about three hours every Saturday Morning. It was brilliant!

They should stick him back on Saturday mornings, and leave Vernon on Sundays with his Lie In. Moyles worked a 6 day week before, why not again?

Could be to do with the fact he's never live on weekends. Isn't he always live on E4?

I like Sara Cox. Never had a problem with her radio show... Its's the TV slots which are bloody annoying.

In my opinion the Saturday shows were always the highlight of the whole week. Nothing was ever planned for them, the competitions were great. Girls go to football, and Dave would get his mystic balls out. Mid day chocolate money, and who could forget Gargling?

Well done Radio 1 1 year later and he had left. Not really worth it, and if Chris had stayed on Colin and Edith would never have come to Radio 1. Think about that hmmmm
