Might just be me but anyone think the forum could be revamped a bit?

My suggestions would be:

- Get rid of MLS Chat

- Change the radio reviews forum into "The Chris Moyles Show" forum and move it up to under general, where people can just talk about the show and anyone can start threads.

- Make General a bit more like on other messageboards where people post about anything, rather than just Moyles based stuff.

- Merge Sound Requests and Polls (or scrap polls?)

- Not sure about the Trash Can.

Thoughts?

Why merge sound requests and polls? Merging polls and general would be a better idea, although the poll vault was only created because Chris didn't want polls in the general bit.

General used to be about anything anyway, but now that is what the trash can is used for.

I don't see any problem with the forum at the moment. If boards got merged people would only get confused as to where to discuss various topics... nothing new there but it would just add confusion IMO.

I know I haven't been here long but I have found it a bit confusing deciphering the difference between General and Trash Can so maybe a little re-shuffle of the forums is in need

MC's changes are good. What I'd do instead though would be to...

- Get rid of MLS Chat like MC said
- Merge Sound Requests and Radio Show Reviews to make "The Chris Moyles Show"
- Merge General and Trash Can to just make a normal General section or "Any Other Business" - stuff that doesn't go elsewhere basically
- Keep Polls as it is.

Although I'm not against any of the suggestions, remember that the reason Radio Reviews is separate is partially because it's open to non-members to post.

As there's only two threads they can reply in, the amount of mess that can be created is minimised.

As someone that uses the sound forum alot, I don't like the idea of merging it with anything, and, as Chris said, the Radio Reviews are seperate so guests can post. I do, however, agree about the MLS forum and that there needs to be either a merging or a clear distiction between General and Trash.

It's a good point well put. Some people may not want to take the time to join if they're just gonna put the odd comment in show review related thread.

Hardly anyone actually posts as a guest in there anyway.

And most of the posts that are made by guests are spam for dodgy sites.

I don't read the sound forum so leave that separate as I don't see the point in reading it unless I specifically want something.

Trash is good - and tends to feature lots of good threads, and its not all rubbish.

I agree on removing MLS as its been a while since I heard any mention of MLS. This thread should be used for Special events or when the band bring out a project similar to MLS.

There shouldn't be major changes as it'll start to confuse people with what happens. Merging Polls and Sound requests is a bad idea all together. Keeping them seperate is a better idea and should kept as it is. I often visit the Sound requests - having to wade through loads of polls to find the request will be a bit of a pain!

Trash is good. Leave it where it is!

You'd think it was - but don't you remember back in the early days when there was more non-related radio (moyles) stuff than "oooh the figures have gone up 900%"

We should try to aim to put threads in there that are benefit to all. Trash is good and some of the best threads have been put in there. But it seems unnesscary to move threads down to trash.

I've never heard Chris Harris say that General was for Moyles stuff. I'd just like to see a return to when it was. The last year or so its changed to just have Moyles related stuff.

General should be for everything (good quality threads) and not just relating to the show or radio.

Another thing that should be done is if anyone notices that if any member happens to be breaking the rules is to contact them via Private Message.

Sidla has taken upon himself to be, "Head of Avatars", which isn't a bad thing. I just think people should pm them.

Well I could of - but it was a general message to all and not just yourself. It's good that you're doing it.

That works for members established with the board and forums in general- but some of the new members especially may not be familiar with the PM system.

I agree that a lot of posts on here could just be done via PM though
