The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Ok, well more geeky than "cool". I was at work, but some bloke knocked on the door of the house and asked my dad if he listened to the radio. He said yes, and the guy then asked him if he'd be interested in filling in a survey on what he listened to.

Knowing that I love radio he said yes, and he gave it to me when I got home. It turns out to be a RAJAR diary! (i.e the stuff they use to compile listening figures - think there are only 140,000 of them).

So basically for the next week I have to fill in a diary saying when and what I listen to, and how much I enjoy it out of 10.

Essentially I am saying here that if Chris adds listeners this quarter he has me to thank.

Damn right Sidders.

Not that he is likely to have added listeners anyway*

*but if he does, it it is entirely due to me.

I love the word "freepentastic". It gives me a warm snuggly feeling

how do they extrapolate those details. Talksport use the wristwatch system (GFK Media) and reckon they have 6 million listners. Radio1 according to GFK has around 14 million

its all guessing... none can be anywhere near accurate. i mean if a radio is on in a factory how do you count that?

I remember we had to do one of them years ago.

Moyles wasn't even at Radio1 then.

Cheque in the post please then Mr Moyles.

Continuing the "something really cool" pattern... I had the greatest double guess who of all time today.

Mark Radcliffe and Gordon Burns.

I'm doing a months work experience placement at my local BBC station in Manchester, and was in the canteen this afternoon when they both showed up..

God I love the BBC.

Mr Radcliffe himself! Legend.
He did an interview on Radio 5 live the other day about his new book with Phil Williams. An intersting listen

Seems he really has droped his "lards classic cuts" and "missing words" style...

I will hopefully be meeting him proper next week cos the show I am working on is getting him on for an interview about that book.

forget radcliffe. gordon burns is clearly the man to meet out of them. the crypton factor was awesome. the people doing the flying simulator were all rubish some of his commentaries on it are great. "oh well that was a safe landing there, unlucky to miss the runway" yes gordon, she landed on a school but at least she landed.
