How many people in the UK actually phone in to try to get on the features? I never have. Not being able to participate doesn't effect the amusement. Mind you I do think being able to listen live as well as with the time delay feature would be good.

But how many people in the UK listen to a US station? surely it's the same principal. The only people who would find it a good thing are people from the UK who moved over there and miss the shows due to the time difference, but since the BBC made listen again for all shows then it defeats the point of doing this.

But how many American stations are available to us on such popular packages such as Sky? Satellite radio is booming over there isn't it? We've not really got something similar here and the only way to get American radio is online

I haven't got the opportunity to listen to a US station. From what I understand radio there is a lot more specialised. I'm sure a lot of people over here who are only into one style of music would love it. By the same token many over there would enjoy the wide range of music on one station. Radio is going global much in the same way as TV already has. I think it is very important that the BBC is a part of this.

Also the quality on listen again is 'not good' and is not available in most cars, parks or even in this office.

Doesn't work, just comes back with an alert with loads of HTML gobbledegook in it.

Sorry, the alert box is an unfortunate side effect, but all refrences to Gaspode_The_Wonder_Dog should be changed to DoggyBoy, and is therefore short enough to reset the original width of the column. Although, as was my point, the difference is negligible.

Alternatively try this for no alert box, again may not work in IE.

I agree absolutely. Hopefully the BBC's charter (laid down by law) will protect us from that. It states the the BBC should serve the UK nation. The team taking exams the other week: fulfilling the charter (and how funny was Dave getting maths??!). I think it is possible BBC radio stations will compare to US stations similarly to how they compare to Radio YokelFM over here. I'm proud of Radio 1 and her sister stations and look forward to sharing it with others. The opportunies to gloat....
