The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

The point of the Extra is to get more hits and beat The Archers.

I think so. I always use those links - I find it a lot easier to listen to the show in Real Player.

Btw, to whoever asked about the figures...

no sara cox in the top 30 then

i listen to it cos i hate the music and the 5 min and 15 minute things dont help much. i find it easier skipping the songs on realplayer. id say youd get more listeners on listen again if you just played the exclusives, parodies and the talking. it would be shorter. the thing is the archers is only 15 minutes long. what you could do instead is a 15 minute digest of show to rival it.

Love the fact that The Goon Show is being rebroadcast. :D At least I hope it's a rebroadcast of all the 1s my dad has on tape and vinyl in the house, and not a remake. Genius.

Definately another thing that should NEVER be remade. Eccles, Bluebottle, Gripipe thynn (thats prob spelt wrong, that 1) etc wouldn't work if modernised, plus Spike Milligan, Peter Sellers etc will never be bettered at this type of surreal comedy.

EDIT:

Dunno if anyone else has noticed and mentioned this before (and can't be bothered checking) but I've just noticed on BBC7, the BBC radio player has 1 min and 15 min rewind buttons. Anyone know why this is? I'm guessing it's to do with the copyrighted music and the fact that BBC7 has very little if any of it.

Yep, one of the deals with the music companies is that we are not allowed to rewind the music so we cant easily re-record it (however we could just start it again). Because there is no full music tracks played on 5 Live on BBC 7 then they can put rewind buttons in. You will also find for a lot of 5 Live stuff there is a link in the Radio Player to open it up in a stand alone real one window.

That was actually discussed. We do record mic only as well as full rots. But it was dismissed. Radio 1 is a music station.

Listen Again is a BBC devised thing to give people the opportunity of hearing shows again if they missed it live. It's not really about ratings - that's us making it a ratings thing. If we started editing our Listen Again then you're getting away of it's reason for being which is to replay the show as it went out. Same as the 15 minute digest. That wouldn't count because it wasn't what was broadcast live.

totally agree with aled there.. granted moyles is funny and that is why we all listen to the show, but with british music so good at the moment it would be wrong to edit it out of listen again.. some people may listen again for the music
